The All American City Finals

The City of Punta Gorda was creatively represented at the 2024 All American City finals by participants from city staff, TEAM Punta Gorda, the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce, police and other public service staff and participants from local nonprofit and business enterprises. Punta Gorda was one of only 20 cities nationwide selected as finalists. All agreed it was a great accomplishment with much learned in the process.

Restoring Veterans Gardens

The destruction caused by Hurricane Ian in 2022 included the landscaping and gardens surrounding the Vietnam Wall. Retired Major General Dick Carr, President of the Veterans Wall of Southwest Florida, asked Betsy Spagnolo, a Veterans Park volunteer and Board President of TEAM Punta Gorda, to spearhead volunteer efforts to bring the gardens back to their beautifully manicured condition.
