Eat out this Wednesday and support GCC!

Hops n Drops in Sherwood has selected us for their Fundraiser Night on March 12th. Between the hours of 5 and 8 pm, 20% of each check will be donated to benefit Gales Creek Camp. (Psst, they have gluten free options too!)

Hops n Drops will also be holding a raffle to raise funds for camp. You could win a $100 gift certificate to a bevy of Portland restaurants, a bounty of GCC swag, or other cool prizes

We want to offer our thanks to Hops n Drops for their support! Click here for directions.

Hope-Mongering parent/caregiver support sessions

This month:

Traveling with T1D!

Join us March 20 at 7pm on Zoom

This month, Camp Doc Cali returns with T1D travel tips, tricks and perks. Dr. Cali has lived with T1D since she was a kid, but that's not slowed her down. She loves traveling, around the US and internationally. Along the way she's picked up some fun pointers. On top of that, she's a diabetes doctor so she can also speak from a professional point of view.

What if you drop your last insulin bottle and it shatters all over the hotel floor...in Spain? Uh oh. Dr. Cali knows what to do. Can your pump go through the airport x-ray? Is there really a magic pass that lets you skip the line at Disney? Come find out!

All parents/caregivers are invited to share their stories, tips and tricks. Let's go travel!

Hope-Mongering is always free!

About Hope-Mongering:

Each month we recruit an array of key voices to host a series of conversations: parents, young adults who grew up with T1D, health coaches, educators, dietitians, T1D doctors and nurses, and of course the GCC summer camp crew. It's a magic formula for conversation on raising a young person with T1D. We'd love for you to join us and add your voice, or just sit back and listen. Feel free to bring topics or questions.

Camp Cleanup Day is June 7st, 2025!

Each year, on the first Saturday of June, we wake camp up from the long, wet winter.

How it works: we have a list of specific jobs and you sign up for whatever works best for you. There will be everything from washing windows to organizing arts supplies. Everything you need will be ready for you, our esteemed volunteer.

Make sure to wear your work clothes and bring your can-do attitude.

We'll start at 9am sharp and work until about noon. Water, snacks and lunch are provided!

Join us for a low-commitment visit to camp! Tours, introductions, and maybe even a game or two will all begin at noon on June 7st following camp clean-up. It's a great opportunity to check out camp for the first time or revisit it just for fun!

New families, veteran families, and all supporters are welcome! We'll have lunch (including veggie and gluten-free options) and low/no-carb beverages.

Please let us know you're coming by signing up below so we can provide enough lunch for everyone.
