Legislature Makes 'Technical Fixes' to New No-Fault Law
Last Tuesday, the Legislature quickly approved a new "technical fix" to the recently passed auto no-fault reform bill. The new technical changes largely corrected drafting citation errors and amended effective dates. For example, under the legislation that was quickly passed on May 24th, the bodily injury limits were increased from $20,000/$40,000 to a minimum of $50,000/$100,000 and the mini-tort provisions were increased from $1,000 to $3,000. Unlike other changes in the bill, these changes inadvertently went into effect immediately. The technical fixes align these dates with the July 1, 2020 effective date that's in the rest of the bill.  More  ...

Michigan Specific Consumer Site through Trusted Choice
Michigan-Specific TC Consumer Portal is Live!
We're pleased to announce that your agency now has another location on the internet where you can be found in addition to your personal website and TrustedChoice.com. Recently launched, the MAIA Consumer Website  features insurance content that appeals to residents of Michigan and connects them directly to MAIA members.

Your existing agency profile on TrustedChoice.com automatically transfers to this new site so any changes that you make to your profile on one site is automatically replicated on the other site. Both of these websites are optimized for Google and other search engines which helps your agency profile to show up high in a generic Google search like "Business Insurance Michigan".

To optimize performance with both search engines and prospects, we recommend all agencies log into their profiles and make the following updates:

  • Add a unique 'About Us' statement that differentiates your agency from your competitors
  • Include local terms like Lansing Business Insurance or Lansing Auto Insurance in your profile
  • Upload your agency logo or a picture of one or more staff members
  • Add customer testimonials

We also recommend you look into an enhanced TC subscription, such as the Advantage Subscription, to give your agency an edge over your competition when it comes to being found in consumer online searches.  Email  or call TrustedChoice.com at 855-372-0075 to get more information about your options.
