Working our way back...
Happy Saints Marcellinus and Peter Day! We can lovingly remember these 4th century martyrs at Mass today without facemasks and sit anywhere in the Church. Well, not Mary’s piano bench, the deacon chair and the presidential chair... Again, this is going to be a process. But first things first, no masks and all the pews are available. With it being festival week, we will have the metal folding chairs for another week or two. Please know our Eucharistic chapel is available, as well as all the entrances will be unlocked. I am sincerely appreciative of everyone’s support, prayers and cooperation. Right now, I have that Four Seasons song, “Working My Way Back To You” going through my head because we are working our way to getting Mass back to way it was before the pandemic. We will get there! As we get there and beyond, “car church” remains available. With that, due to the festival, we will have a Eucharistic Minister in the Vine Street Parking Lot giving out Holy Communion for “car church” at all the Masses this weekend.
Lastly, I hope these mostly daily memos were of help to you. Thank you for putting up with the corny jokes, puns, and my silliness. I hope you got to know me a little more as I shared a few personal stories and worked in a little pop culture from time to time. I am grateful for Deacon Carl, Mary Hrich, and Mary Lou Beers offering memos, too. They did a super job. Also, thank you Mary, for posting the memos.
Even though there will be a significant drop off with the frequency of these memos, there will not be a significant drop off with my prayers and thoughts for you. Love, peace and goodness, Fr. Steve signing off.
God bless and stay safe!
