First and foremost, I hope you’re staying safe and healthy at home. This pandemic has put us face to face with an unprecedented moment in time, where everyone is affected in unique ways. This will soon be behind us, but we need to work together to make that happen. Please continue to stay indoors , take care of yourself and those at home with you, and take every precaution if you need to leave your home.

Although I miss seeing our visitors walk through the Museum’s doors, I am filled with gratitude for your ongoing support. I want to send a heartfelt thank you to those foundations, corporations, and individual donors who have contributed to the Museum during this uncertain time. Together we are ensuring that Mexican art and culture will continue to have a vibrant home at the National Museum of Mexican Art for generations to come.
While I’ve got your attention, I want to remind you to complete the 2020 Census . It only takes a few minutes! Census results help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year. If you’ve already filled out the Census, call a friend or family member and remind them to do it or share this graphic from the National Museum of Mexican Art’s youth program Yollocalli Arts Reach.

Speaking of Yollocalli, you’ll hear from our youth initiative next week!

Keep checking our website for at-home activities, and be sure to follow us on Facebook , Twitter , and Instagram for updates. Remember to stay up to date on the status of COVID-19 in the City of Chicago here .

I look forward to the day that we can open our doors and welcome you back to the Museum. We will weather the storm and we will continue to showcase the very best in Mexican art and culture. We can’t wait to share it all with you again.

Dios los bendiga.
