Dear New Beginnings Family & Friends:
I pray this email finds each of you well.
I write to inform you that at the request of our bishop, Debra Wallace-Padgett, and local health officials, the church building will be closed until further notice beginning Sunday, March 15, 2020. All worship services, Bible studies, meetings, rehearsals, and outside groups meeting in our church have been canceled.
The church leadership and I will continue to monitor the situation and keep the congregation updated in the days to come.
Here are a few ways we will stay connected during this time:
Weekday Devotion & Prayer Conference Call
Join us for a weekday prayer call at 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday beginning March 23rd. Each day, selected members and I will offer a devotion, prayer, and announcements. To connect to the call, simply dial: (563) 999-2305 and enter the access code: 480519#. When you connect to the call, make sure you mute your phone or find a quiet space to listen, so that we can limit background noise on the call.
Sunday Morning Worship Conference Call
We will also host a worship conference call every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. To connect to the call, simply dial: (563) 999-2305 and enter the access code: 480519#. . The church leadership and I will be happy to do all we can to assist you in this time. Most of all, I encourage you to reach out to one another. I am instituting a “Church Buddy Program,” so please find at least one person from the congregation you know and reach out to them and check on them daily.

Finally, know that in these uneasy and uncertain times that our hope is in God. Psalm 46:1 reminds us that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (NRSV).
Remember, that our church community is not defined by our presence in the church building itself, but in our spirit diffused into the world. Know that I hold you in my heart and prayers. May God grant us wisdom, courage, and grace.
