Dear Rockford Reformed Church family and friends,

Here’s another reminder about our congregational meeting on this coming Sunday immediately following our worship service. There will be essentially just two items on the agenda, and I would guess that the meeting should not hold us up for very long. 

We will look for a vote of affirmation for the following to serve in these positions: Fred Bazen as serving deacon, Scott Jacobs as shepherding elder, and Jerry Swett as administrative deacon and treasurer. And then, you will find a letter below from Melissa Cool, our Deacon Chair, and Dianne Bennett, Treasurer, with details of our proposed 2024 budget. As you review these details and have any questions, you are encouraged to connect with Dianne. If you are unable to join us for this meeting and would like to provide a vote for these two items, you can submit an absentee ballot online.

We will continue with our Advent sermon series on Sunday with a focus on how Jesus enables us to “sleep in heavenly peace” (Isaiah 9:6-7). We are going to try to squeeze a few more chairs into the Family Life Center to accommodate our increased numbers in worship. It will also help if we all squeeze a bit in the seats to make room. As we are blessed each week with new families joining us for worship, we all have this great responsibility to welcome, integrate, and care for them well. Let’s work to meaningfully connect with each other and with those searching for a church home. Extend invitations for lunch, coffee, or in some other way.

We praise God for his amazing provision as we pursue his vision for us—with love for him and our community—all for his glory.
