Dear Rockford Reformed Church Family and Friends,

A few quick things to note for this week… It was in the bulletin, but I forgot to mention that I will host a Discovery Class on this coming Sunday (1/29) from 2-4pm (changed from 5-7pm) in my office. And then, Ruth and I will host the second gathering on 2/5 from 5-7pm, beginning with dinner together. If you would like to become a member with us or simply explore and learn a bit of what it means to become a member, please sign up by emailing connect@rockfordrc.org by Saturday at noon. Childcare is provided.

The long wait for updated numbers related to the renovation is finally over. The consistory reviewed the new estimates and project scope with the renovation team last week Thursday and we look forward to sharing an update and next steps during our worship service on February 5.

The next step for the transition from the RCA into the ARC is a congregational meeting for a vote. The date of this meeting has not yet been confirmed with the classis, but it is likely to be scheduled for early March.

God’s Spirit is graciously working in and through our worship gatherings each week. On this Sunday, I look forward to sharing “Endless Grace” from Matthew 18:21-36. The following week, for the third sermon in our “Living Reconciled” series, we will see what it means to “Dance with Crushed Bones” from Psalm 51.

Thank you for your prayers as we work to stay intensely focused on our vision while juggling lots of balls. I am greatly encouraged as I hear how the gospel is at work in and through many of you—drawing others toward Jesus. Our Lord and Savior is worthy of all our efforts.

Grace, peace, and love to you all,,

Pastor Tim
