A Message from The DocYard Team!
Thank you for supporting our all-virtual Spring 2021 season. We are proud to have continued our award-winning work spotlighting new creative nonfiction films through the tenth year of the series. It’s been our great pleasure to present films from storied festivals like Sundance and Berlin, while they are still traveling the festival circuit, as well as debut features and short film programs by filmmakers from off-the-beaten-path. Your enthusiasm and participation in a continued dialogue about the political stakes of documentary ethics, and aesthetics of the form, inspires and sustains the work we do.

Our venue partner, the Brattle Theatre, reopens for public screenings in July, and the DocYard will also return to in-person presentations for Fall 2021. However, we will maintain a hybrid format and offer all screenings virtually and in-person at the Brattle, as long as it remains safe for us to do so and in keeping with the development of the pandemic worldwide. We will announce the complete season lineup in August 2021. It’s also our great pleasure to offer a DocYard season pass that covers all screening formats, at a cost of $49 for 8 films. For more information, keep reading!

The Fall Season pass includes access to the films, a DocYard tote, and 1 free popcorn at in-person screenings at The Brattle. You can purchase a pass here! Note that we have to limit the free DocYard tote to passholders who are U.S.-based! Feel free to email us at [email protected] if you have any questions, and we'll continue to share more information about passes as we get closer to the Fall!

In the past year, we have made all of the recorded live Q&As with filmmakers available on our YouTube channel. We are excited to maintain an ongoing archive of the types of interactions we seek to foster—with the films and with the filmmakers.

If you see any of us in person or online, please say hello!

Hope to see you soon,

Abby, Kayla, Gen, and Lyda
