Don’t get bored this winter! Instead, get the goods for at-home fun via NKCPL. The Library has tons of items to help make your indoor time fly, including (more than 3 million!) books, audiobooks, DVDs, and puzzles.

And did you know? Starting in November, you can log ALL your Library checkouts for the chance to win a weekly mystery prize. All media counts — not just books. :) The more items you enter (books, DVDs, puzzles, etc.), the more raffle chances you earn. Your Curbside checkout receipts will have a secret code, too, which you can log to earn ten raffle chances at once! For more details, and to register, go to Curbside & Chill is open to participants of all ages. Weekly mystery prizes await!
Hobby & crafting & food magazines, oh my!
Love magazines? Us too! Which is why we're thrilled to remind you about one of our favorite aspects of NKCPL's Overdrive/Libby collection: the magazines! Overdrive houses the Library's largest digital collection, including books, e-books, and e-audiobooks. But did you know it also houses current and back issues of in-demand mags across a broad spectrum of interests? We're talking food and cooking, hobby and craft, politics and entertainment, and more. All (1,300+) titles are full-color and fully navigable, just like any other e-book you'd borrow in Overdrive. They're literally a treat to look through.

Speaking of treats, want to learn to make the cutest fall-themed cookie wreath ever? Check out this month's issue of Woman's Day--plus tons more great seasonal content--via Overdrive.
This may be a year unlike any other...
But we still get pie, right?? Find the brand new baking titles featured below via our catalog page, or via the Missouri Evergreen app. (And don't worry; you'll find plenty of non-pie-related titles there, too.) Happy browsing!
Enjoy jigsaw puzzles? Now you can use your NKCPL card to check out high-quality jigsaw puzzles (many of them brand new!). Give us a call at 816.221.3360, and we'll set one aside for you. You can pick it up via Curbside!
Check 'em out! New kids' books arriving weekly...
November Book Walk: Reflecting on military service and sacrifice with Rolling Thunder
November 11 is Veterans Day. For this month’s Book Walk along the Library parking lot's perimeter, we chose a story that honors the bravery and sacrifice of American service members. Rolling Thunder highlights the importance of coming together to honor and thank those who’ve risked everything to keep their country safe.

You can stroll and read this lyrical, beautifully illustrated title all month long here at NKCPL.
Connect with others via an NKCPL event!
There's a lot going on via the Library this month! From near-weekly yoga (we've got both mat and chair options), to a 6-week series with MU Extension on eating smart and staying active, to opportunities to connect with others over coffee, coloring, and knitting & crochet, we've got a lot on the docket. Turning 65? You can even get the lowdown on Medicare in one of our helpful info sessions. Oh! And we've started a Padlet group for food lovers. Stop by here and say hello, if you're inclined. We'd love to swap recipes with you!

For more info about these November events (including dates and times), and to register for a class, go to Once you sign up for a session, keep your eyes peeled! We'll email each class's Zoom link prior to the event.
Keep calm and craft on, November 2020 ed.
And don't forget! We continue to offer Curbside Crafts. We've got fun kits for littles, available by request, plus a number of kits and activities for older kiddos and/or adults, including some stunning new fall-themed greeting cards from crafter Joy Hood. Projects change often, and are available while supplies last. Call for info or to reserve a kit or kits. Happy crafting!
And finally, just a reminder: RBdigital ebooks and audiobooks are now available through the Library’s Overdrive collection. You can find this collection on your phone or device via the Overdrive and Libby apps (and on desktop via > Missouri Libraries 2 Go). Need help finding or using these apps? Give us a call at 816.221.3360. We're here to help!
