Most merciful Father,
your gifts of love are countless
and your goodness infinite.
On this Thanksgiving Day we come before you
with gratitude for your kindness:
open our hearts with concern for others
so that we may share your gifts
of loving service with all your people.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God for ever and ever.
A Message From Our Executive Director
November 1st is All Saints Day - On this very special day, we celebrate all the saints. There may be many saints today walking this earth even though we don't see their wings.
The Shrine will be closed on All Saints Day.

November 2nd is All Souls Day - A day dedicated to the holy souls. Let’s remember our ancestors especially those who have gone before us and all of the souls who are in need of our prayers. The whole month of November is dedicated to All Souls.
Please join our Mass of Remembrance on Tuesday, November 2nd at 7:00 a.m.

November 13th Is St. Frances Xavier Cabrini's Feast Day - We are elated that this day begins our Jubilee Year, a holy year of plenary indulgences. This was declared in the name of our Holy Father Pope Francis to honor the 75th anniversary of the canonization of The First American Citizen Saint, our dear Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini. On Nov. 13th. Opening of the Holy Doors will begin at 3:30 PM, followed by Mass at 4:00 PM. Due to limited space at the Shrine, we ask that you visit our website to register online or call the Shrine.

The Jubilee continues through November 13, 2022 so there is plenty of time and opportunities for planery indulgence to those planning a pilgrimage to the Shrine.

November 25th. is Thanksgiving Day. Everyday should be a day of Thanksgiving. This day is special to give thanks to God for all the favors and graces that God showers upon us everyday and for what we may have failed to recognize.

Lord we are deeply grateful for all your love, graces and compassion you grant us all the days of our life. Amen

Sister Bridget Zanin, MSC
Executive Director
All Saints Day
November 1st
The Shrine will be closed.
They left their mark on the earth for you, for us, for our children to come. Thank you, God, for the tremendous sacrifices made by those who have gone before us. Bless the memories of your saints, God. May we learn how to walk wisely from their examples of faith, dedication, worship, and love.
November 2, 2021

Mass of Remembrance
7:00 A.M.

You are invited to bring pictures of your loved ones to place near the altar. They will be remembered during the Prayer of the Faithful.

The souls of the names written in the Book of the Dead will be remembered at each November Mass. For a lasting remembrance, consider a plaque on our Wall of Remembrance in the Narthex. Contact Sister Bridget Zanin, MSC or Barb Willis, Development Director if you are interested.

We also invite you to pray in our side chapel dedicated to All Souls.

Feast Day of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini
Mass Celebration
November 13, 2021
Mother Cabrini's Feast Day begins our Jubilee Year in Honor of the 75th Anniversary of the Canonizaton of Mother Cabrini. Cardinal Cupich petitioned Pope Francis through the Apostolic Penitentiary of the Vatican to declare a special Jubilee Year, beginning on November 13, 2021, and ending on the same date in November of 2022, and we have been blessed with his approval. Our theme is "Christ's love heals the world."

The inaugural liturgy will begin with the opening of the Holy Doors on Saturday, November 13 at 3:30 PM, followed by Mass at 4:00 PM. The Shrine has limited capacity; therefore, participation is open only to those who register.. We require masks to be worn indoors and encourage other COVID-19 safety measures.

The main celebrant will be Bishop Robert Casey, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Concelebrated by Bishop Mark Bartosic and our Rector, Father Ramil J. Fajardo and other religious order priests and priests of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

To register for mass, please CLICK HERE and include the names of each person in your party.

May this event bring us a renewed sense of the Gospel, a deepening of our relationship with God, and a clearer understanding of what it means to follow Christ in today's world.

Gratitude and joy were certainly felt by close to 100 attendees during our 2021 Benefit Event on Thursday, October 7th at the Chicago Yacht Club.

All enjoyed this beautiful evening beginning with a cocktail hour under the stars followed by dinner and presentations by our emcee Janet Davies, our Executive Director Sr. Bridget Zanin, and our Rector Fr. Ramil Fajardo , where they inspired us with stories about Mother Cabrini and the enormous impact she made in our city.  Our Benefit Event Committee worked extraordinarily hard in a very short period of time to produce this wonderful and remarkably successful event.

Proceeds for this year’s Benefit will provide important support for our Shrine Ministries, Programming and Special Events. Mother Cabrini was certainly watching down upon us and we can be sure she was smiling.
