Bits and Pieces

| | Click on the Picture for More Information | | Ain’t that peculiar? A peculiarity, I’d say. It wasn’t teardrops falling from my eyes, so it must have been rain! I almost forgot what rain was, since it’s been so long since we’ve seen it! I’ve smelled it in the air, I’ve felt the heaviness for days, I’ve thought back to the days of old with humidity in the air, and I’ve checked the stats for when a monsoon can actually begin here in Az. And yet nothing! Apache Junction started it all off I guess with about 1.5” in 30 minutes (WOW!), and then Saturday morning I awoke to wetness on the ground, in the tree wells, and dripping from the leaves. Wonderful…now if we can just keep that spigot turned on for longer, everything can cool down and get refreshed at the same time. Smiles abound, right?!?! | | Click on the Picture for More Information | | Now, I’ve spoken a lot lately about the new machines coming in from Grace Co. longarms and the new sit down quilting machine, as well as the newest BERNINA machines, and all the free gifts and great prices with the 250th FREEdom Event along with special Financing offers for a limited time. That time is July 24-August 6! There really is a lot going on for you right now, so check out the FREEdom brochures, check things out online, or come in and see us. Just to let you know—in August we travel to Ca. to learn about the 8 new machines being introduced by Janome! So soon you will be hearing a lot about those machines (can’t tell you now because we won’t know anything until Aug. 17, but in the meantime, be aware that we need to move some machines to make room for the newbies, and you get to be the beneficiaries of these changes! Again, check out the machines online, and check out prices with us in the shop! | | Click on the Picture for More Information | | I can give you specific dates for the WestWorld Quilt, Craft & Sewing Show (AKA The Rusty Barn Show): mark your calendars for September 3-5 this year in Scottsdale! We have our booth numbers for you, too: 708-712. We expect and hope for a big crowd, as usual, and we will have Jarek from Grace Co. here with us again this year. Bring your questions, your needs and desires and your room measurements with you when you come, and if you have never tried your hand at longarming, now is the time. Try it out, play a bit, get the feel of the motion. It may seen peculiar at first to be pushing the machine instead of the fabric, but let your muscle memory take over or just give in to the software for beautiful quilting! Grace Co. can just about fit any reasonable price range, any combination of frame:machine, any size for even the smallest room so long as a tabletop can fit in the room. They are a wonderful company to work with, and they have the ability to anticipate your sewing needs and wants and make them affordable and dependable. Come see!!! Drop in to the shop anytime and see and try the various models! | | More fun stuff to talk about: when you get this newsletter, we will be in the middle of our Christmas In July Camp focusing on Embroidery projects! But you can’t beat the Glitter Bundles sheets of fabric!!! Yes, I said FABRICS! They are beautiful, eye-catching, totally non-messy for you and your machine, and easy to sew on as any other fabric! Use them sparingly in wall hangings or use them totally in holiday projects! Your choice!!! Oh, be still, my heart!!! | | I could go on forever, I think, but Murfee-the-WonderPup wants to go out and chase the clouds! Now, that IS a peculiarity, but then he is a very peculiar boy. It’s been so long since he’s heard thunder or seen rain that he thinks all of his bad-boy ways have finally caught up with him, and he might have tears falling from his eyes. Wonder-of-wonders! Last thought…let’s make batiks the weekly special at 20% off when you give us the code of 20BATIKS with your batik purchase. Online or in shop (but try to make it in for a look-see of the new glitter fabrics and the samples and kits!!! Be safe out there! | | Barbara and the Wonder-People at SVQ | | | | |
