A Purpose!!! 10/26/22
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A PURPOSE!!!
In the wee hours of last night, I wearily reached over and “tried” to do my appointed “DUTY!”
You know-READ MY BIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My intention was good and noble as I well know the Scriptures:
Psalm 119:9-11 (KJV)
9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
As an added incentive in the Christian duty of DAILY Bible reading, I found myself, AGAIN DUTIFULLY READING the Book of Revelation!!!
Revelation 1:3 (KJV)
3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
“BLESSED IS HE THAT READETH................................!!!”
Can I get an AMEN!!??
BUT...............I could not seem to get into it?????
Ya see, there must be “A PURPOSE” to EVERYTHING!!!

As I returned home this afternoon from sharing a lunch with a beloved brother, I realized that even in dining we make/have PURPOSE!!!
BEFORE we sit down to eat physical food, do we not make sure we have all the necessities?????? Silverware, napkins, salt and pepper, HOT SAUCE, cold or hot drinks ALREADY placed and prepared.
Are we not careful to CHOOSE all our favorite foods from the stove or menu??????????
WE get up in the morning with A PURPOSE-WE go to bed at night with A PURPOSE-SLEEP!!
Why do we sleep?? With A PURPOSE to feel good for the next day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO.......... that begs the question???
WHY do we read our Bible???
Is it, too often, just to check a box on our spiritual calendar?????
Do we read our Bible just because WE are SUPPOSED to read our Bible.
And yes, too often we rich homo sapiens eat physical food just because the clock and/or the doctor or society demands!
“IT IS TIME TO EAT” whether one is hungry or not.............................
Yesterday I sat down to practice my guitar. As a musician I MUST regularly practice my “chop.”
As the OLD saying is true, “USE IT OR LOSE IT!!”
BUT I realize now my “chop” practice was a waste of time and effort because I do not put A PURPOSE into it.
I played but not really PLAYED!!!! It was just a routine!! I was no better or nourished physically, musically, spiritually or anywhere fulfilled from the time and effort-same as my Bible study last night.
It looks good “on paper” and I can boast falsely to myself and others, but they served no real PURPOSE
TODAY, may each of us approach every task and every minute of this life with A PURPOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ecclesiastes 9:10 (KJV)
10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
Or, as Mama used to say, “IF IT IS WORTH DOING DO IT RIGHT!!!
