Hilarious—And, Not Far Away… | We’ve driven by this sign hundreds of times, but the other day we just had to stop for a picture. What’s particularly amusing about the sign is how the arrow on top is attached by wire. When we finally visited their website, we were stunned—there’s more going on with this theater than we could have imagined, and we imagined very little! From traditional bluegrass, to a Roy Orbison Retrospective this weekend, and the Hudson River Shakespeare Company will be performing in early July! We will definitely make an appearance this summer, and bring a bunch of friends, neighbors and guests along!
World Cheese Championship... |
Hornbacher, took home the most coveted prize of all, and was named the 2024 World Champion Cheese. Michael Spycher, from the Fritzenhaus Mountain Cheese Dairy (Switzerland), and four-time world champion took the blue ribbon again this year. Interestingly, the second runner up was The Farm at Doe Run, in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Closer to home, here in Vermont, Jasper Hill Farm, Cabot Creamery Cooperative, Vermont Creamery and Wegmans Food Markets all placed in their respective categories. We have the complete Vermont Cheese Map with lots of recommendations.

Shelburne Museum’s Stagecoach Inn Galleries
The Interior Alone is Worth Visiting... |
Stagecoach Inn was built in 1783, operated as an inn in Charlotte, Vermont, relocated to the property in 1949, and extensively renovated in 2022. Shelburne Museum’s pioneering collection of eighteenth-and nineteenth-century American folk art is one of the finest in the nation. Weathervanes, whirligigs, cigar-store figures, trade signs, ship’s carvings, and scrimshaw are on view, as are exceptional paintings by artists with which you may not be familiar. This magnificent collection housed in “The Inn” is among 39 buildings on the museum’s 45-acre campus. Founder Electra Havemeyer Webb described Shelburne Museum as a “collection of collections.” The Museum’s extraordinary holdings, numbering more than 100,000 items, defy any simple description, which is why the museum is our #1 destination for our guests.
