Simply Live

He who did not spare his own son, but have him up for us all; how will he not also…graciously give us all things.

~Romans 8:32

We enjoy great abundance in our lives. Both rich and poor have all the gifts God has given us to enjoy and sustain ourselves. The gifts of love, beauty, friendship, a heart to love and be loved. We who have an abundance of material goods are called to share with those in need, but we all have gifts from God.

Sometimes, from our abundance of material resources we might go overboard, gathering material goods to enhance our lives and entertain us. That is wonderful, if it doesn’t get in the way of appreciating the wonderful gifts of God. Too much stuff can do that, you know.

There are magazines on the newsstands that are called Simply Living, and Simple Life. It’s become trendy to “simplify” your life by getting rid of stuff. Not only does this exercise make your life less complicated, but it clears the way to see the gifts of God that are yours forever.

In this month of thanksgiving, be thankful for whatever abundance you may have, and be extra thankful to God for His abundance of the free gift of love, salvation, friendship and family!
