I AM AMAZED AT HOW DANIEL’S PENITENT PRAYER COULD BE APPLIED TO AMERICA.

So, I revised it in anticipation of this Saturday’s Day of Repentance.

Daniel saw that the desolation of Jerusalem would last 70 years, so he turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.

We, too, are on the verge of desolation—the complete destruction of our country! But there is no promise to us that we will be restored, especially since the USA is not in Scripture.
So let’s pray like Daniel did from Daniel 9: 4-19‬:
“I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed:

“O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and obey his commands, we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. We have not listened to your servants, the godly pastors and teachers, who spoke in your name to our Presidents, our politicians and our ancestors, and to all the people of the land.

“Lord, you are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame—the people of our cities and the inhabitants of our states and all America, both near and far, in all the countries where you have placed us as witnesses, but have been unfaithful to you.
“We and our Presidents, our politicians, and our ancestors are covered with shame, Lord, because we have sinned against you.
“The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him; we have not obeyed the Lord our God or kept the laws he gave us through his servants the, godly biblical pastors and teachers. All America has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you.
“Therefore the curses and sworn judgments written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against you. You are fulfilling the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing on us great disaster.

“Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like what is soon to be done to America. Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster will come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth.

“The Lord will not hesitate to bring the disaster on us, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him.

“Now, Lord our God, who brought your people out of Great Britain with a mighty hand and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong.
“Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from America, a country founded on Christian principles, a shining city on a hill, your city, your holy hill.

Our sins of abortion, pornography, homosexual marriage, transgenderism, and the iniquities of our ancestors have made America and your people an object of scorn to all those around us.

“Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, Lord, look with favor on your desolate church. Give ear, our God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the country that bore your Name.
“We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy.

“Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your country and your people bore your Name.”
WHAT IS THE RETURN? Go here for info.

A movement, an appointed time, and a specific day set apart for one purpose – the return to God, that there be a coming before His presence in humility, in sincerity in prayer and repentance, that there be intercession for America, for each other, and for oneself, for God’s mercy, for salvation, for healing, for revival, for restoration, and for the fulfillment of God’s purposes for America and all who dwell within it.
WHY?

America has in great measure departed from God and His ways. We have forgotten the Rock upon which we were founded. And we have removed Him from our public squares, our culture, and our lives. It is written in the Scriptures that righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people and, further, that the ways of unrighteousness lead to judgment.

But the Scriptures also set forth that God is love and abounding in mercy and that all who come before Him to seek for His mercy will find it – and that in repentance and return will come forgiveness, salvation, healing, revival, and restoration. It is upon that foundation that this promise is given: ‘If My people who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their sinful ways, I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land.”

WHEN?

As a movement of prayer, repentance, and return, it begins from this moment forward.

As a time and season, it will be focused on the biblical ten-day period beginning with the Feast of Trumpets and ending with the Day of Atonement, (September 18-28) the time known as the Days of Repentance. This will also coincide with the four hundredth anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower.

As a day, it will center on Saturday, September 26, 2020. This will fall near the end of the ten-day period. In the time left in that period, it will be sealed with the prayers of God’s people in their houses of worship and individually before the Lord.
The day following the event, Sunday, will be set for sealing what has been done and praying for the nation and revival in houses of worship throughout the land.

And from then on it will continue in whatever fruits and ramifications are therein birthed.
WHERE?

It will take place throughout the nation in prayer and repentance offered up in houses of worship, state capitals, public squares, in home and households, in events and gatherings, wherever and however, and, individually, in every place and in every heart that is so led.

And on the central day of Saturday, September 26, in addition to the above, it will as well focus on Washington, D.C. in the form of a central event and gathering of prayer and repentance in the nation’s capital on the National Mall in an event also to be known as ‘The Return.’ The gathering will follow the course and purpose of the sacred assemblies as recorded in Scripture.
WHO?
The Return is for all who know God to draw near in His presence in prayer and intercession, for all who have known God to return, and for all who have not known God but who will now come seeking His presence, and for a nation to return to the Rock of its foundation – for all who will come before His presence according to the purposes stated herein.
