Over the weekend, hundreds of barricades appeared in Lincoln Square. What did that mean? Early on Tuesday morning, we were notified by DSNY and NYPD that we had to move 40 heavy garbage cans out of our parks and off the sidewalks of Lincoln Square in advance of a Presidential visit on Wednesday. "No Parking" signs were posted all over Lincoln Square by the NYPD. On Tuesday afternoon, our Clean Team relocated 40 of our trash cans to ensure safety along the Presidential route. Thank you to Glenwood, Fordham University, and Two Lincoln Square for “holding” our trash cans until we can put the cans back on Thursday. We anticipate a heavy police presence and possible street and sidewalk closures with checkpoints, as well as intermittent disruptions to mass transit throughout Lincoln Square and NYC. | |
