CBHA's Proposition Preview

A Preview of What's On Your November Ballot -
Proposition Preview 2020
Dear Behavioral Health Colleagues,

With the 2020 Election a week away, the California Council of Community Behavioral Health Agencies (CBHA) is committed to equipping our members and the public with the tools and knowledge needed to make informed decisions about our future. We also recognize that it is essential to do everything within our power to promote racial and social equity in the midst of this double pandemic.

For this reason, CBHA has created a Race and Social Equity Taskforce (RSET) that is working tirelessly to address inequalities, including impacting policy, educating the public, and promoting best practices. We have prepared this Proposition Preview within our taskforce to help prepare our communities to make their voices heard.

Included in the Proposition Preview is a section that explains the ability of non-profits to engage in advocacy and lobbying. This document also highlights several propositions that will be on the November 2020 Ballot. We have chosen to highlight these specific propositions as we believe they are relevant to behavioral healthcare and have an impact on race and social equity.

CBHA would like to recognize the members of our RSET Policy Subgroup who contributed to the Proposition Preview:

  • Alana Brooks
  • Christopher Brown
  • Chad Costello
  • Lisa Davis
  • David Mineta
  • Wendy Wang
