Innovating together, thanks to you
Janine is shining in her new job at Arby's, where she landed an internship as part of our Together Works Better community employment initiative. Janine is proud of her new independence. "I decided myself to try it," she said. "I like the customers and my co-workers are nice." To date, we have placed 13 individuals in 14 internships through Together Works Better. In addition, 10 individuals, including Janine, have taken advantage of Blue & White taxi for supplemental transportation to and from work.
The project is made possible through generous support from Ed and Val Spencer, The Saint Paul Foundation, F.R. Bigelow Foundation, Opus Foundation, and the Minnesota Department of Human Services Disability Services Division.

Together, we are better
Our Committee of Advocacy & Leadership (COAL) hosted its annual Valentine dance on February 15 at Koch Campus. Thanks to everyone who turned out to dance, enjoy food and celebrate the importance of friendships. COAL provides opportunities for individuals to learn self-advocacy skills and serve the community through food drives, volunteerism and other activities.

Our staff make a difference
Congratulations to staff members Holly Schuffenhauer, Jonathan Solie, Christine Wagner and Rebekah Wold who were recognized with awards representing our organizational values of Impact, Choice, Heart and Partnership.

Held February 1 at Opportunity Partners-Asplin Center, the staff celebration included a buffet dinner, music and prizes. Your support helps us provide our staff the recognition they deserve.
