Ensign House Fire Fund
$50,000 Matching Pledge
They'll be OK, thanks to you!
You can help us move forward for Jim Bjorneby, Ken Carlson and Ken Mundale who called OP-Ensign Residence their home. With support from OP staff, the trio enjoyed living in the tree-lined neighborhood for 20 years.
Everything changed when the mid-day fire on June 12 left their house a total loss.
With your support, you can help us reach our $300,000 goal for the Ensign house fire fund.
Thanks to the heartwarming generosity of an OP family, your gift will be matched - up to $50,000.
Ken M., who was retired from his job working banquets, was home at the time and saved from the fire by his OP staff. He wonders about family photos lost in the fire.
Jim's sad about the loss of his collection of biographies and historical novels. "I think if I was there I could have died because I can't hear anymore and wouldn't have heard the alarms or seen the flashing lights alarm if I was sleeping."
The garage was the guys' favorite hangout for listening to music and Twins games. Ken C. had tools and a workbench, and he enjoyed puttering around with simple wood projects. Everything is gone now.
Jim said he saw the aftermath of the fire on the news, but he did not want to go see the house. "I hope we can get into a new house soon."
As we continue to work toward a new home, we know there will be significant gaps in uncovered costs.
Your support is critical. YOU can make a difference with a special gift today.
