A Recall on the Passion of Jesus
Dear Ministry Partners,

Being a student in bible school, sometimes I am curious: What did Jesus look like? One of my colleagues raised controversy in our class when he said that Jesus was not a handsome guy. Revelation 1:14-15 offers a clue that Jesus’ skin was a darker hue and that his hair was woolly in texture. In my sermon on Easter day, I preached about Jesus’s body on the cross. I found out that there were 6 remarkable things that believers should know about Jesus during the last moments before he took his last breath. Firstly, there was sweat on his body. “He prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.” (Luke 22:44). Secondly, a crown of thorn on his head. Thirdly, nakedness. “they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.” (Matthew 27:28). This reminded me of how the Bible describes a poor man: in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in want of all things (Deuteronomy 28:48). Fourthly, scars. “He was wounded” (Isaiah 53:5). Fifthly, blood. “And according to the law, I may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.” (Heb 9:22). Lastly, water. “…and straightway there came out blood and water.” (John 19:34).

This year, Easter Sunday fell on Sunday, April 17. Jesus is alive! Hosanna to the Lord, the tomb is empty! Death could not hold him captive. He lives in us. He is risen and will reign forever more. Hope you had a Happy Easter!

From a CCI Graduate:
“I am Mr. S, from a Hmong tribe, and live in central Vietnam. I would like to thank you for your support and prayer for the 2.5 years being trained by CCI in the city and 3 months studying on Zoom due to covid-19 restrictions. We are so fortunate to study with teachers who are passionate and experienced in teaching. I have learned many things from this class. In short, I learned about the morals and qualifications of a church leader. I loved the moment that I got nervous as I practiced preaching in front of my colleagues. I also learned many things from Book#9: Church History. This subject taught me to see how God is at work in Christian churches throughout the times. Praise God for this class that helped me grow spiritually and developed my skill in managing our church and preaching much better than before."
A testimony from Love and Biblical dating:
“My name is Le. This was my first-time attending the seminar on Love and Biblical Dating. I happily joined this seminar as I have not yet fallen in love, which is good because the seminar equipped me with the understanding about love, the right person to love, and how to maintain the relationship in godly way.
I am so happy for this training because it prepared me with biblical perspectives on love and dating. I believe that I know how to address this issue now. By God’s grace, I promise to follow the principles that I have learned from this seminar."
