Greetings!

I think a little chilly in the air has arrived. Not too bad for Thanksgiving, I believe. I certainly trust you are doing great these days. Karyn and I sure do love you all and find ourselves truly thanking the Lord for allowing us to be so blessed by you all for so many years. Thanksgiving provokes my heart in a major way.

We all have much for which to be thankful. Last week, as we gave thanks for our veterans, I could not help but give God thanks for our beautiful nation and the thousands of men and women who give so much to make this land so incredible. At the Veteran’s luncheon, General Glenn Bramhall delivered one of the finest addresses I have ever heard about the significance of the lives of our veterans. The dining hall was full and the spirit was rich in reward. This week we participated in the Groundbreaking of the phenomenal mission outreach of Bridgeway Village. What do veterans and Bridgeway Village have to do with one another? Giving and sacrificing for others!!  As Christians, we really care! You all do this so outstandingly and have done so for years and years. Your pastor thanks you!

I am so looking forward to preaching The Word again this Sunday. My message is going to be very personal through God’s Word. I will be sharing with you a number of things I am most grateful for as I look back – and all from God’s Word. The Holy Spirit will speak to you and all of us. He always does. Added to this, we will witness the baptism of many people in both Genesis and Celebration. Last week over 50 people gave their lives to Christ through the pulpit ministry of our church. Many more called in. Bring your loved ones and friends. Just invite them.

I cannot wait to see you Sunday with your Bibles in hand.

Your friend and pastor,

Every month representatives from the the Pastor's Search Teams listed above will be sharing video updates to keep us informed on their progress.

Every other week members from the Spiritual Advisory Team will be providing a continual flow of information as we move through this process. Last week's report was from co-chair John Warner. This week we gain insight from one of the Prayer Advisory team leaders, Lauren Morris.

These updates will help to keep us unified in prayer as we seek God's choice for the next pastor of First Baptist Spartanburg.
Join us in Prayer
Come spend an hour every Tuesday from noon to one in our Sanctuary to pray or be prayed for. You are welcome to stop in when you like and leave when you like.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7
November Prayer Focus
Please pray for our Workers who are serving so faithfully right here in Spartanburg, our nation, and around the world, and many of them may be far from their loved ones and friends as we go into the holiday season.

Please join us in praying for Overflow, our Thanksgiving outreach to the community. Ask the Lord to provide food for families in our community that will bless them during the coming holiday season. Pray that the Lord would give volunteers opportunities and boldness in sharing the Gospel with each family who comes, and for hearts to be ready to accept Jesus!
The Bridge is a great place to volunteer!

During the fall season, we often think of the harvest and 2 Corinthians 9:6, “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” Thank you for sowing bountifully through your generous giving so that more people can be reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

With our online giving, it is easy to keep current on your tithes by setting up an auto recurring gift or making a one-time gift. You can also give your tithe during the service on Sunday, place it in one of the many giving boxes around the church or send it to the church by mail if you are unable to attend the service. Thank you for your commitment to maintain your faithful stewardship in every area of your life – time, talent, treasures and testimony.
