Harvest of Hope

Last month's annual Harvest of Hope dinner was a huge success! There were several previous and new sponsors and over 200 attendees. Thanks to this event, Habitat will have an estimated $29,000 going towards programs. Thank you to all who helped make this event a success!

Town of Ashland Support

On Tuesday, Sep. 20th, 2022, Ashland Town Council presented a check in the amount of $100,000 to Renee Robinson, Executive Director of Hanover and King William Habitat for Humanity. This funding was made possible by the Town's American Rescue Plan Act funds. This project is being supported, in part, by federal award number VA NEU 0008 awarded to the Town of Ashland, by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Habitat will be using these funds towards the purchase and renovation of the project on Dewey Street in Ashland. This is a fire-damaged home that has been vacant for almost two years. Habitat is excited to renovate it and sell it at an affordable price to a homeowner in our program. Habitat would not be able to afford to purchase this home and renovate it without the Town’s support through this ARPA funding.

Faith Build

We are having a virtual Faith Build information session for anyone who is interested in learning more about our next Faith Build. Faith Build is a partnership with organizations and businesses in the community. We want church groups, and friends of the faith community to gather and help build and fund a home for a local family.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 13, at 10:00 a.m. Email Amanda Gunter at [email protected] to get the meeting link! If this time doesn't work, let us know and we can schedule another time! Faith Build information and resources can be found online

Ways to Support Habitat

The Kroger Co. Family of Stores is committed to bringing hope and help to local neighborhoods. Please link your Kroger rewards card to Hanover Habitat for Humanity (still under our old name). They have two days of early access savings for Prime members and deals start on October 11 through October 12. As you shop, don't forget that AmazonSmile is a simple way for you to support Habitat! When you shop AmazonSmile, Amazon will donate 0.5% of your eligible purchases to the charitable organization of your choice. Go online now and choose Hanover and King William Habitat for Humanity as your organization to support! AmazonSmile is available at www.smile.amazon.com on your web browser and can be activated in the Amazon Shopping app for iOS and Android phones.
