A Response to Rain
Holy Spirit Students Helping to Assemble Bags for Bayou City Blessing Today

A few short hours ago I was writing my Spirit Shot article for you with some thoughts about the stewardship packet that is currently in the mail and headed your way.  As I was writing this, the heavens opened and the rain started coming down.  Holy Spirit got more rain this afternoon than we ever have, even during Harvey.  Our campus is mostly dry with some of the classrooms getting a little water  - which we have been diligently taking care of.  Of more concern to me is how you all are doing.  Please let me know if you have gotten water in your home.  I'm also praying for all of you who were affected by Harvey as I am sure this rain storm brought back some memories.

We are all in this community as God's people and God has brought us together to care for each other and those around us.  I guess, in some way, this is the primary message of the stewardship campaign as we all offer out of what we have to make this community we call "Holy Spirit" possible...but back to the effects of Imelda.  Please know that I am praying for your safety.  I am praying for your comfort and relief in the face of any anxiety.  I am praying for this to be a passing storm with few lasting effects to health, homes, etc.  May God bless us all with the assurance that we are not alone, the reminder that we are ultimately ok, and the gift to gather together on Sunday in joyful thanksgiving.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything.

Wishing you all grace and peace,

See you in church,

It is a tool that helps us to shape the path between our relationships with ourselves and one another, and the path in our relationship with God.
