Blackout for Easterseals
Thanks to the Larkin High School Royals, we ended the year full of basketball spirit as recipients of the annual 'Blackout for Easterseals' crosstown game with Elgin High School on December 21. It was a very close game between the schools with a final score of 55-52 to Elgin High School. Clients Emilee and Josh were treated like Larkin "royalty" and participated in team warm-ups, the starting line-up and the pom squad. We appreciate all the planning from the athletic department to make sure each child was celebrated during the game.

Through sales of their Blackout t-shirts and sponsorships, Larkin High School presented a check for over $4,500 to support Easterseals. Thank y ou to our Larkin High School community for their generosity and Athletic Director Ethan Karolczak for spearheading this effort!

You can watch the game and some of the Easterseals fun, including an interview with President & CEO Theresa Forthofer and client Josh on WCIU's broadcast of the High School Game of the Week.

Parent Library

Did you know each of our centers has a Parent library? Available books cover a variety of topics from behavior to toilet training. There are also great books for children of all ages. The most recent book addition, was donated by Scheduling Supervisor, Mary Liberty, called Eamonn the Might y by Kristen Moran. This book is meant to empower children whose cardiac surgeries left them with a "zipper" chest scar. It was created out of love and admiration for all those children to honor all they've endured. Check it out today!

Associate Board Super Bowl Raffle

The Associate Board returns with their annual Super Bowl Raffle fundraiser! Purchase a chance for $10 each and you have a chance at winning cash after each quarter of the Super Bowl on February 3.

These payouts are dependent on selling 100 chances:

Q1:                $75
Halftime:        $100
Q2:                $75
Final:             $250

How it works:  There is a grid of 100 squares. Each column and row will be randomly numbered 0 – 9 to reflect the possible score of the game between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams on February 3, 2019. Entrants' names will be randomly assigned to each square. A winner will be determined at the end of each quarter. The winner is determined by looking at the last number in each teams' score, and then matching those numbers on the grid and seeing which square intersects those two numbers.
