HOLIDAY PROJECT

This past week, the Center was filled with excitement and gifts in preparation for our annual Holiday Project! Individuals and organizations not only adopted children and families, they also donated gifts to stock our Holiday Shop. The Holiday Shop is held for one day each year where non-offending caregivers are given the chance to “shop” for their children at no charge, allowing them the joy of presenting them with holiday gifts. Through this project, we we're able to serve nearly 1,200 children!

We would like to extend our gratitude to our volunteers, donors, and staff. We couldn’t have done it without you!

GIVE BACK CHILDHOOD

When child abuse happens, innocence is lost and childhood is stolen. At Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, we fight every day to Give Back Childhood to children who have suffered the unimaginable.

Child abuse and neglect are an unfortunate reality in our community and the statistics are staggering. Every eight minutes in Texas a child is the victim of abuse or neglect. Last year in Collin County alone, over 6,000 suspected cases of abuse or neglect were reported to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County provided life changing services to over 4,100 children and their non-offending family members, a 16% increase over the prior year.

As you consider your plan for year-end giving, we invite you to Give Back Childhood to our children and help give them hope for a bright future. Because if we don’t, who will?
A SPECIAL GIFT

This year at Holiday Shop, in the midst of selecting gifts for her children, we had a mother stop to express to one of our Family Advocates how meaningful this was to her and that without this opportunity she wouldn't have been able to provide gifts for her children this Christmas. She was especially excited to find the exact toy, an action figure, her son had been asking for but she knew she could not afford.

We are touched by the outpouring of support, gifts, donations, and volunteers that help make our Holiday Shop a success each year. Thank you for playing a part in making sure these children receive the special gifts they were hoping for!
