Dear Friends, Families and Supporters,
Phase 2 of our reopening began on 10/1 and we find ourselves very fortunate to have enough space to maintain social distancing, work in cohorts, and keep people separated throughout the day. Per the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) expectations, we will be 100% by November 1. We continue to put all measures in place and adjust as necessary, including utilizing our previous location at 421 Main St in Cromwell. Transportation continues to be tricky, and we encourage families to transport, when able, at least one way.
DDS has notified families and guardians that individuals who do not return by the end of 2020 risk losing their DDS authorizations. We are willing to work with families, listen to their concerns, and devise a plan for individuals to return safely. Partial returns, acclimation periods, and combining virtual services are all options. It is important to note that schedules must be adhered to so we can staff appropriately. Now, more than ever, we need to be fully staffed to provide care while following all safety protocols.
As our board and executive team evaluate our strategic plans for the immediate future and the long run, employment is at the top of the list. Our focus is to increase job sites, and appeal to families and the community for referrals.
