A Season of Blessings
Spring, a beautiful time of the year with the rains and storms, the greens and the colorful flowers! Spring, a time of renewed growth, not just for the world around us, but also to the life we have been called to as Christians, as beloved sons and daughters of God our Father. The call to rise up and shine, for “he has been raised,” Easter is here!

What a marvelous past week we were gifted as we celebrated the Sacred Triduum (three-days): Mass of the Lord’s Last Supper, Celebration of the Lord’s Passion, and the Mass of the Resurrection of our Lord. The awful beauty of this 3-day long liturgy is a real reminder of the love that God has for us, His beloved. This season of hope, where graces abound, especially through the sacraments, are “efficacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us” (CCC 1131).

We celebrated three of the seven sacraments this past Saturday at the Easter Vigil already: Baptism, the Eucharist, and Confirmation. This weekend we’ll be blessed to share in the Eucharist with 19 more members of the Church as our First Communion students receive the Eucharist for the very first time!

What a gift to receive the very Body of Jesus, as through it our bodies and souls are nourished with this food from heaven. I know our young members are excited for this as they’ve been preparing all year to join us in this heavenly meal. I ask that you pray for them and their families that their love for Jesus will continue to deepen and remember that when they eat the Eucharist, Jesus is truly in each of them.

Pray also for our students that are preparing to receive Confirmation on Pentecost in May. Pray that the Holy Spirit will come down upon them in an even more profound way so that they may receive the gifts they need to go out into the world with greater confidence, sharing the Gospel to the world by the witness of their lives.

Thank you to all of the ministers for their hard work making the celebrations from this past week so beautiful and profound, lifting us up in prayer. To the Environment Crew and the benefactors of the beautiful Easter flowers, the Musicians, the Servers, Ushers, Sacristans and Lectors, our parish staff, those who have been praying for our parish, and to all of our families.

May we continue to play an active role in this love story between God and His family and share this Good News to those around us. We are a people of hope. Let us bring that to the world with rejoicing and gladness!

Easter blessings!

2021 Catholic Services Appeal
The 2021 Catholic Services Appeal is getting ready to roll out for this year. The 2021 theme is “Together in Hope” which is most fitting in these challenging times. This Appeal is wonderful as it reminds us that as a Christian people, we are one family in faith, who need Jesus first and foremost in our lives, as well as one another. Your participation will help support ministries that serve the poor, support life and strengthen our Faith.
