LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR - DAVID ELKINS

Finding Truth, Freedom and Hope in Christ

Safe Harbor Friends and Family

Fall is in the air and Jesus is on the Throne, despite the chaos satan is using to try to distort the Truth and destroy our lives. There is so much miss-information going on in our world about what is Truth. What is Truth? Jesus says I am the Truth (John 14:6) As pastor of Safe Harbor I feel the most important mission to our clients is to point them to the Truth, Jesus.

Jesus says that he was born for this; To Testify to the Truth, (Himself) and that everyone who is of the Truth hears Him. John 18:37 For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

As we are ever evolving at Safe Harbor to accommodate the needs of our clients and give them Hope I see spiritually starved men looking for Freedom and Significance from a world that has repeatedly lied to them. These men can Handle the Truth, if given the opportunity so please pray for our men and help us share The Truth (Jesus) with them!

Your prayers and support gives us the means to provide the needed opportunity to right the lies the world has spilled into these men and give them Hope in the Truth!

Blessings,

Pastor David and Safe Harbor Staff

CLIENT OF THE QUARTER

A Journey Leading to Meaningful Progress.

"I am from Mascot, TN near the Grainger County line. I grew up in a good home with my grandmother because my mom was addicted to crack. I made a lot of bad decisions growing up. I ran with the wrong friends, did drugs and had a lot of girlfriends. I went down the wrong path. My grandmother told me about God my whole life, but I was just always too busy with drugs and girls to listen. She still planted the word in me.

Years of wrong decisions, I ended up in 25 years of addiction then in prison. I fought addiction and rebelled against authority in every way possible. In prison my addiction got so bad I wanted to die. My sickness about killed me but it didn't just make me feel like dying. So, I finally truly called out for God to help me and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. My whole life changed. I changed. I became new. God started leading me and removing things out of my life that didn't need to be there. He has led me to Safe Harbor and is showing me how to be the man of God that I always was meant to be. He has set me free from drugs, tamed my tongue, and helps me die to my flesh every single day.

Let no man deceive you, God will not be mocked whoever sows to the flesh reaps destruction and who sows to the spirit reaps life. Be holy as he is holy. One thing I know I was a bad guy and a wicked man, now I am born again chosen child of God. I am the righteousness of Christ set apart, a vessel of honor. I am a royal priesthood. If he did it for me, he will do it for you , just believe. I was a scourge on my community. One of the worst drug addicted criminals Knox, Granger, Jefferson and Hamlin County had ever seen. However, by submitting and renewing my mind daily with reading my Bible, working my Sanctification by removing stuff and pruning things out of my life that don't need to be there and a lot of prayer, by grace I am being transformed daily. Thanks to Safe Harbor I get to learn to work save money and come to know Jesus in a safe environment. We are brothers here. Thank you, David, but most of all thank you Jesus."

PARTNER OF THE QUARTER - LISEGA

Partnership with Purpose

Safe Harbor of Jefferson County is proud to nominate Lisega as our Partner of the Quarter.

At Safe Harbor, we believe God is a God of second chances and that a person's past does not have to determine his future. Restoration often begins when someone is simply willing to believe in a person and give him an opportunity, and Lisega has been that kind of partner.

Lisega sees our clients as more than employees. They recognize them as men working hard to rebuild their lives, regain their independence, and become productive members of their families and communities. Their team consistently demonstrates patience, respect, and a genuine desire to see our clients succeed.

For the men we serve, a job is much more than a paycheck. It provides purpose, responsibility, confidence, and hope for a better future.

We believe God often works through people and organizations willing to open doors for others, and Lisega has opened those doors for our men.

Safe Harbor is incredibly grateful for their partnership, their compassion, and their investment in the lives of our clients. We thank God for partners like Lisega and are honored to recognize them as our Partner of the Quarter!

STAFF OF THE QUARTER - JEANNE WILLIAMS

A Legacy of Service, A New Season of Joy

With joy and sadness, I honor Jeanne Williams for her service to this ministry. Jeanne came on board with Safe Harbor in November of 2020 and now she is departing us at the end of the year for retirement and grandkids!

Jeanne has mastered the admissions office and much more. Her skills and intuition has guided our office with precision and insights that have elevated her office to be recognized ministry wide as Admissions of the Year several times.

We are going to miss you Jeanne, but we are happy for your next season of life. We pray God will bless everything you put your attention to and fill you with joy.
