Greetings!

Summer is here, and as the days get longer, the lengths we go to in order to support our communities grow too. Our programs and resources continue to change, so I invite you to visit our website to keep up to date.

I am extremely proud to announce the completion of our Community Needs Assessment and the release of the results. The Assessment was the culmination of several months' hard work learning from you about how we can best serve our communities. We are very grateful for our survey respondents, for our Community Conversations participants, and those who joined us in June for the results webinar. Extension to pay utility bills:

Don't wait, call today

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) suspended disconnections of residential and small business customers for an additional three months through September 30, 2021. If you are behind on your energy bills, we encourage you to contact our LIHEAP department to see if you qualify for assistance. We also encourage you to call your utility company and ask them about a payment plan if you need one.

Community Market News

Our Community Market has partnered with 211 and DoorDash to provide free delivery of food boxes during COVID-19. We currently deliver to an average of 36 household per week. If you are not able to go to a local food pantry due to a health related condition and are in need of food, you can sign up for this free DoorDash service by calling 211.

Last month, through our partnership with Food Forward, we distributed 14 pallets of food - 24,125 lbs - among 15 local food pantries and partner agencies:

Expanding Services for Unsheltered Adults

Alongside the shower and laundry services we provide every Monday and Friday for our unsheltered adult community, we now provide mail services.

You must complete an authorization and intake form in order to begin receiving mail. Pick ups will be open on Mondays and Fridays between 8 am and 12 pm noon. Visit our website or call 805-436-4000 for more information.
