PARKWAY NEWSLETTER | NOVEMBER 12

Greetings Parkway Friends and Family!

As the Christmas lights come on and the decorations go up, it seems the ‘stress’ comes out as well. If Advent (the four Sundays before Christmas) is the season in the church where we are preparing our hearts for the coming of the Lord, then I find it befitting that there is a season of “thankfulness” pre-Advent. Of course, Thanksgiving is a non-secular holiday, but its timing and placement is serendipitous for Christians none the less.

The next two Sundays, leading into the season of Advent, Rev. Fenn and myself will be preaching on gratitude for God. Stress has the ability to pressure us into a place of wanting and dissatisfaction. We can become blind to the blessings around us. So, join us at Parkway as we study scriptural stewardship that leads to gratitude for God.

A few updates on what’s happening at Parkway…

Annual Church Conference

Every year we conduct a meeting to report the past and future business of the church, as well as vote on future leadership. Parkway’s Annual Church Conference will be held in our Worship Center at 7pm on November 14th and childcare will be available. Our District Superintendent, Rev. Tony Vinson, will be officiating and a few of our Board Members will be presenting some updates regarding facilities, staffing, and finances. This is a beautiful opportunity to live into your membership vows and contribute to the life and direction of our church. After all, YOU are the church. Please consider being in attendance for this very important meeting!

MidWeek Ministries

This Wednesday is our last MidWeek of the year, and we will resume again on January 18th!

Second Mile Donation Truck

Don’t forget the donation truck will be at parked at Parkway tomorrow (11/13) from 9am-1pm. Consider donating your lightly used household items, clothes, accessories, furniture, and more to our community partners at Second Mile.

Women’s Ministry Retreat:

“The Hope of Restoration Hosea 14:4-7”

Let’s face it, often times as women of the Word, we put A LOT of people and things before our own needs. We frequently neglect our need to rest, relax, and be restored. That’s why at Parkway, we encourage people to make time every year for a spiritual retreat. We have found that when any of us get away for some set period of time to spend in God’s presence, we tend to ‘glow’ and we often take big steps forward in our relationship with God as well (Exodus 34:28-32). Please consider attending our WOMEN’s MINISTRY RETREAT January 6th-8th at Jordan Ranch in Schulenburg. The early bird special price is $200 and you can receive more information or register HERE.

As always, if you have any questions about Parkway and the ministries we offer, please contact me and I would love to connect you with service and growth opportunities. You can always visit our website or Facebook page to learn about upcoming events/ministries.

By His Grace Alone,
