A Shared Vision is teaming up with Play It Again Sports to support families of children with visual impairments in Colorado!

Just drop off your gently used sports equipment from now until December 31 at Play It Again Sports, 18851 E. Hampden Avenue, Aurora. A Shared Vision will receive 40% of what each item is priced, and you’ll receive a receipt for your tax-deductible donation.

Acceptable donations include football, baseball, adult hockey and Proline golf equipment, snowboarding gear, rollerblade and ice skates, lacrosse helmets and sticks, pickleball paddles, and fitness gear. No bikes, skis, or elliptical machines, please.

To arrange a pick-up of your donations, contact janderson@asharedvision.org or your EI-TVI from A Shared Vision.

What We Love Now

Do children outgrow their favorite toys? Not always! Awnaleesa’s mom Tivalia sent us this picture of her daughter playing with a musical toy orchestra recommended by her EI-TVI when she was just a toddler.

Tivalia wrote, “All these years later and this is STILL one of her favorite toys! She carefully listens to each instrument and feels how they are. She recognizes them in songs. It’s honestly one of the coolest toys she’s ever had!” You can buy the toy HERE.

The Best Holiday Gift Guide

A Shared Vision families often ask us for recommendations on what to buy for their very young child who’s blind or visually impaired for Christmas or their birthday. We’ve got the list of perfect sensory toys HERE!

Time to Order Braille Christmas Cards

National Braille Press’s Christmas cards are now available!

This year’s design “sleighs the season” with a baby dragon riding a sleigh through the snow. A pack of 10 cards is $20. Order HERE.

A Season of Gratitude

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? For many people, expressing gratitude is a daily practice, not just on the holidays.

We are grateful for two Colorado foundations who year after year continue to recognize the value of early intervention. This fall, the Denver-based Buell Foundation and the Boulder-based James Hynd Trust for the Blind awarded A Shared Vision a total of $55,000, which will support the breadth of our programs and strengthen the community of early intervention professionals. We are thankful for their continuing investment in A Shared Vision!

Colorado Gives Day Is December 10!

A Shared Vision is participating in Colorado Gives Day for the seventh year in a row! This annual statewide movement celebrates philanthropy in Colorado through online giving on December 10, 2024.

Why wait until December when you can schedule your donation HERE. If you set up a monthly recurring donation, Colorado Gives Foundation will match up to $100 of your first month’s gift.

A Shared Vision is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the leading provider of in-home and community early intervention vision services in Colorado. We inspire and empower families to nurture the development of their very young children who are blind or visually impaired so that all children may discover their brightest future.
