Hello Homeowners!

What can I say about this year? It's almost over! I know I speak for all of us here at Karma Diva when I say that we are so incredibly grateful for you all. We've all been faced with incredible challenges this year and it is with an inspired heart that we're excited to embark on another Winter Season! We've all had a lot of new adjustments to get used to in our lives and we appreciate all the hard work everyone has been doing to help keep all of us safe, healthy, and our schedules running as best as we can.

If you're getting this email, it's because we haven't seen you since early March and we miss you! I know there are still a lot of reasons to be extra cautious and I want to take this opportunity to lay out what precautions we are taking and generally just to stay in touch. If you would like to discuss how/when to best get back onto our schedule, I hope you'll reach out!

Here are a few of the updated changes we've made over the past year:
Risk Assessment Scale

As you know, we're trying to get back up and running as carefully as possible and need your help. We are grouping our clients into risk categories so we can organize a safe approach. Based on the following scale, please let us know how many people have spent more than 3 hours in your home over the last week and what level of precautions they have been maintaining so we can determine if your home is low, medium, or high risk.

0 VERY STRICT - stays inside, maintains 6ft distance, no outside contact, strict infection control protocol.
1 STRICT - leaves home for essentials, maintains 6 ft distance, hand-washing/sanitizing immediately after touching anything, wears a mask outside, no socializing outside of the home.
2 FAIRLY STRICT - Leaves home for work/groceries, socializes with others at 6 ft, exercises outdoors in low-density areas, no physical contact with anyone outside the home, shops once per week or less.
3 SOMEWHAT OPEN - Socializes with <10 others at 6ft distance, will socialize with others closer than 6ft if at the same level or less, goes outside with a mask on, physical contact with others if at the same level or less.
4 MODERATELY OPEN - Regularly socializes with others, does not regard any social distance parameters, no use of masks when around others, leaves home regularly.
5 VERY OPEN - No precautions other than hand-washing, may desire to get infected, may have already been infected.
Distance
Precautions
It is our policy to follow social distancing guidelines while we are in your home. We require both clients and cleaners to wear a mask during the time we are in our clients' homes. We particularly prefer this precaution to be taken if our clients plan to be on the same floor as us while we are there.

When possible, we ask our clients to please stay in a different room (or floor where applicable) so that our technicians can move throughout your home without sharing the same space. Some clients are also opting to be out while our technicians work, which is also great for us.

On our side, this is our current list of precautions:

- Wear a mask when entering client homes.
- Wash hands immediately upon entering client homes.
- Techs will clean as usual, being sure to go back after finishing each room and use 70% isopropyl alcohol to disinfect all surfaces that have been touched (light switches, door handles, woodwork, etc.).
- In cases where more than 1 house per day is on our cleaner's schedule, we are wearing a new set of clothing for each house, which means that we may need to take about 10-15 minutes at the beginning and end of each cleaning to change and wash hands.

We welcome feedback on these precautions and look forward to a safe and healthy visit in your home.
Appointment Scheduling
We thank you for your consistent communication regarding scheduling. This is something that is always a challenge to keep up with as there are so many moving parts. Please remember that the sooner we hear from you regarding your appointments the easier it is for us to plan.
COVID-19 Testing

If someone in the home has recently been tested for COVID-19 please let this be a reminder to reschedule your cleaning if you will not know the results before our scheduled visit.

Seasonal Deep Cleaning

As the weather cools, some of our clients are starting to notice things like ceiling fans that need attention and new cobwebs. The wetter Winter season will have our mudrooms and entranceways becoming more of a focus area. It is possible that we may need some additional time to complete these tasks.

We'd love to get a heads up from our clients that we will be able to charge a little extra for the 15-30 minutes these additional tasks may take to complete.

Other extras included on our Seasonal Cleaning Extras Checklist:

Brush down of ceilings and walls
Ceiling Fans
Window Thresholds
Tilt-in Window cleaning
Baseboard washing - we can get to the stuff behind the bigger furniture if you pull it out for us.
Mud Room Vacuuming/Mopping
Special Attention to Outer Doors and Thresholds

If you are in need of this extra attention, please let us know so we can plan our timing as accurately as possible.
Feedback
We are proud to have a team of house cleaning professionals that is so dedicated to steady communication and attention to feedback. Our cleaners really thrive when they are receiving kind and accurate feedback on a semi-regular basis.

Please keep an eye out for occasional follow-up emails with a rating scale for each cleaning. We find this extremely helpful in keeping our techs informed regarding the consistent quality of their work.

We don't intend to clog up your inbox but we have found this feedback to be helpful in maintaining our standards.

Weather
The Farmers' Almanac promises the upcoming 2021 Winter season will be "on the cold and snowy side". With colder-than-normal temperatures and above-normal precipitation, the Farmers' Almanac also warns that a "wintry mix" of rain, sleet, and snow is likely along the East coast.

Please help us to stay safe in all seasons by keeping driveways and walkways clear of leaves, snow, and ice before we are scheduled to arrive at your home.
