One More Act of Kindness This Year

In every moment, Louisianians have shown the world what compassion looks like.

Dear Friends,

As 2025 comes to an end, my heart is heavy—and full of gratitude. We’ve witnessed scenes no family should ever endure: parents taken away on their way to meet their children at school, leaving a seven‑year‑old and a middle‑schooler; teenagers suddenly raising their younger siblings; sadly, federal agents smashing a car window to detain a mother who had just pulled into her newly leased home. These stories rarely make the news, but our hotline is flooded with calls about families inhumanely separated—sometimes even U.S. citizens chased in their own neighborhoods.

Through it all, the caring people of Louisiana have been a beacon of hope. Because of neighbors like you, LORI has been able to respond. We’ve knocked on doors with Know Your Rights cards, delivered food boxes, diapers, and baby formula, and provided multilingual information when fear and confusion were everywhere. We’re now receiving more pleas for help with utility bills and rent. Our community education has empowered thousands to understand their rights and support for one another.

In every moment, Louisianians have shown the world what compassion looks like.

As we look to 2026, the road ahead is long. Some families have been sheltering in place for weeks, children still worry when parents don’t return, and our rapid‑response teams are stretched thin.

If you can, please make a year‑end gift today—whatever you can give will help us continue providing food, utility assistance, and hope.

You can donate cash directly, which helps us cover urgent needs like utilities, or purchase essentials from our Amazon Wish List to ensure supplies are delivered straight to our office for families in crisis.

Thank you for believing in a Louisiana where every immigrant family is safe, informed, and cared for. Your compassion makes all the difference.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Your generosity ensures that when families reach out for help, we can say yes.

Yes to food. Yes to utilities assistance.

Yes to support rooted in dignity and compassion.

Thank you for making a gift to LORI today.
