When you’re feeling afloat in the sea of overwhelm, look for a

lighthouse in your life—and remember too, that

you are a lighthouse for yourself and others.

Dear Suzanne,

 

I'm thrilled—and a bit nervous—to write to you directly for the first time. Taking on my new leadership role is both an honor and a challenge. I know you came to Oasis because of the amazing value of the strategies that Millie created and and shared. But the reason many of you stayed is because of Millie herself.



As I step into this role, my promise is to carry forward Millie's vision while sharing my own heart and mind with you. How can I help you continue to feel part of this special community? How can I serve you best? My goal is to keep Oasis a place where you can feel supported, inspired, and empowered.


To calm my nerves and begin this journey, I turned to an Oasis strategy: 3-B-C (3-Breath Countdown). I paused for three long exhales, imagining my worries floating away with each breath. On my inhales, I created space in my heart and mind to receive clarity. Eventually, a simple truth surfaced: I will try to be my best self in service of others. One step, one moment, one breath at a time.


And that’s my promise to you: to create ‘Oasis experiences’ that offer an on-ramp to inner peace, inspiration, or insight so that you find the Oasis within, to renew yourself amid the turbulent waves of life.

My e-note messages will include a brief offering—a quote, question, story, or poem—what I’m calling Sip of Serenity from Oasis, and a personal story and suggestion around the subject.

Ask yourself: What problem is facing me now -- how am I the solution?


  1. Can you view the problem as a puzzle, an opportunity to grow stronger as you solve it?
  2. Take a moment to breathe. (Try the 3-B-C strategy!)
  3. On each exhale, release any emotions and thoughts holding you back. On each inhale, make room for answers to emerge. Trust that they will.
  4. It may take time, but one steady breath at a time, you’ve got this!
