Why "March Forward" when so much in life may feel like a

forced march; can it be easier?

Dear Suzanne,

Coming up this weekend, we have the time change. Yes, the clocks will spring forward overnight from Saturday to Sunday.

As I recognized how that single hour adjustment can be a struggle, I began to contemplate the impact of the countless adjustments we are called to manage every day. The uncertainty and constant pivoting in response can be overwhelming and stressful.

I wanted to give you another set of tools that are complementary to the Oasis Strategies. A mini version of my course entitled Peace on the Path.

Each day next week, I will send you a new “letter,” featuring a simple “exercise” and the reasoning behind it. Together, these five steps form a system of practices designed to strengthen your sense of steadiness and clarity as you navigate daily life. Like any effective system, they are intended to be repeated, helping you build consistency and confidence over time.

Below is an overview of the five segments, forming the acronym: P-E-A-C-E.

P - Physical. As physical creatures, the body is important to take care of and possesses enormous wisdom.

E - Equilibrium: Balance is like optimizing the communication between body, mind, and spirit. While never “perfect,” regulating these will improve your sense of capacity to handle whatever comes your way.

A - Accept and Assess: Our decisions are only as good as the information we base those on. We need to take a pause, make sure we are seeing clearly, and determine if we have the resources and skills to take the right action at the right time.

C - Choose: Identifying where we have choice and where we don’t is critical. Beyond that, we must also discern the right priority.

E - Engage: It’s great to have a plan, but we need to put it into action, and action never happens in a vacuum. While having a full tank of gas or charged battery is needed to move forward, we also need to press the accelerator pedal and make sure we have the right team and network for the journey.

As always, reach out if you have any questions, thoughts, or comments. I'm always happy to hear from you (Suzanne@OasisintheOverwhelm.com).

Wishing you a beautiful March—easing forward with poise and “peace on your path.”

With love and light,

Suzanne

Sip of Serenity from Oasis in the Overwhelm

This month’s Sip of Serenity (SOS) is about going counterclockwise! (Yes, I love puns.) While the clock pushes us to “spring forward,” I invite you to try a different approach— “Go Easy.”

  • Where are you wound too tight and not able to loosen up enough to be effective or enjoy yourself?

  • While the clock is unnaturally pushing you to start everything earlier, can you tune in to nature’s rhythms slowly changing? If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, the days are getting progressively longer by a few minutes. The sun is arcing just a little bit higher in the sky. Make an inventory of some changes you want or need to make. Reduce the list to 1-3. Really. Choose what’s most important.

  • “Easy Does It.” Apply the saying, “Easy does it.” Plan to make your changes feel a little gentler. For example, instead of changing 25 degrees in one day, can you plan to change by just 1 degree? (Try a 4-D to dump the old, and a 4-D to invite in the new!)
