STUDIO UPDATES

New Work in Progress!

It’s been a very busy month in the studio, and I’m excited to share this sneak peek of a new large-scale painting in progress. This is just the first layer, so I still have a couple of months of work ahead - but I’m really excited about where it’s going!

This is actually the third time I’ve painted a bathroom scene. So what is it about bathrooms that I find so compelling? I’m always drawn to subjects that are both personal and relatable. Bathrooms are where we begin and end our days - they’re private spaces, yet they reveal so much about us. My favorite part of this piece is the view into the cabinet reflected in the mirror. It’s something we don’t usually share with others, but like everything else in the room, it tells a story. Originally, I considered focusing on just the cabinet, but I decided to step back and I’m so glad I did. I’ll be sure to share more as it develops in next month’s newsletter.

It was also an incredibly messy month in the studio as I prepped a whole batch of panels for my small Leftovers paintings. Now that they’re freshly primed, I’m excited to see what each one becomes.

NEW in the Leftovers Series

Another heavily textured painitng created this month - this is now the 54th piece in my Leftovers series. This little one felt like a dance while I was painting it - loose, layered, and a bit unpredictable. I followed the rhythm and let it lead! That's how this little painting got its title: "Groove."

This piece is available for purchase and ready to hang.

I am hoping to put together a collection of testimonials and would so appreciate if you could take a minute to write something or send me a photo. I absolutely love to see photos of my work displayed in your home or paintings you've done in my classes. Thank you all so much!
