The Session decided today to not host in-person worship this weekend but to invite all members and friends to worship online.
We met Tuesday evening, making decisions we thought wisest at the time, ready to announce new protocols for our campus and worship gatherings. Since then there has been an escalation in the public restrictions and precautions recommended by government and health officials. By today another wisdom was needed.
For the sake of the well-being of our members and of our city we will not meet to worship this weekend. This is not cancelling worship. We will host a worship service of excellence in a near empty Sanctuary making it available online on Sunday morning at 11:00. The worship leaders and musicians from all three hours will lead us. They are ready, willing, and able. Planning is nearly complete.
Further, the Session will be meeting again this Sunday early to determine the shape of our common life in the weeks to come – worship schedules, on campus gatherings during the week, care for our members, and more. We will communicate these to you as soon as they are determined. There will probably be much to say in the next few weeks. We will stay close and stay in touch.
