In Mark 10:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

There are so many ways to nurture children and with our upcoming Fall Event, we aim to provide warmth and comfort to children in need. The Fallevent will start in October and the bags for the children are filled with winter necessities. Please see below for a way you can help with something that may be laying around your home.

Comforters Needed

We are seeking out gently used or new comforters. If you have any in great condition, we can use them My Joyful Heart! So many children that we serve are requesting them this year and the supply does not match the demand. We are looking mainly for Twin and Full but can use some Queen or King too. We will give them out in October and November so please spread the word for us. Please wash and drop them in the cart in the back (9981 W. 190th St. Suite i in Mokena). Thank you in advance!!

Reminder - Holiday Boutique

Shop for some holiday items at our Boutique, everything from cute and spooky Halloween items to gorgeous Fall items. The prices are LOW and the benefits of shopping here are IMMENSE as the money is turned into hygiene kits for local children in need.

If you would like to send your sponsored child a letter or card or anything special, please have it to us by October 1st so it can go out with the Fall bag. If you would like to know their birthday or interests, just call or send us a message.

Starting in October, we will be giving out birthday kits again! As the children turn another year older, we want to bless them with a small gift for their special day!

How can you help? Rally your friends, neighbors, co-workers, small groups, classrooms, troops, teams, etc. (now through April 1, 2025) to help collect the items on the attached flyer. Send us an email (information@myjoyfulheart.org) or call 815.806.1700 if you can help with this project. We will distribute approximately 400 in October, 400 in December & 400 in April.

Bunco - Friday Oct. 18th 🎲

Game on, faith-filled friends! Let’s shake, rattle, and roll!

Join us for a night of Bunco, laughter, and a whole lot of love as we come together to support the children! Whether you’re a Bunco pro or just rolling for fun, every shake of the dice helps us get closer to making a difference in these children's lives.

So bring your friends, your lucky dice, and let’s turn our love into action!

Amigurumi - can you help?

Our theme for this school year is the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). We want to teach the children to let the Holy Spirit be their guide and to let the Spirit help them make the best decisions that will always please God.

How can you help? We are looking for those talented individuals that can make some small fruits the amigurumi way (now through May 1, 2025).
