Face of Grace October project: College Care Package Donations -- We need your help!

We are trying to fill 25 boxes to send to our church's college students and we could really use your donations! We are collecting anything a college student might like -- post it notes, pens, granola bars, microwave popcorn, Starbucks gift cards, gum, ANYTHING! We have 25 students that we are collecting for and so all of your donations are greatly appreciated. Care packages will be assembled on Oct. 16th during Sunday School. All ages are invited to join and help pack!

There will be a donation bin located in the church narthex labeled Face of Grace College Care Package Donations. You are also welcome to drop off items in the church office. Don't have time to shop or wish to donate to help offset shipping costs? You are welcome to donate money! Please place your donations in the jar next to the donation bin (cash or checks are fine) or you can mail or deliver your donation to the church office with a note that it is for Face of Grace.

Do you have a student(s) in College? Please send their name, mailing address, and any food allergies to Anna Morris at [email protected] by October 10th.  Thank you so much for helping us to send our college students a little bit of love from their home church!

October Ministry of the Month

Eastside Baby Corner

Now in their 32nd year, EBC helps kids children have what they need to grow, play, learn and thrive by providing essential tangible items needed for a child’s healthy, safe, physical, emotional and cognitive development. EBC does this by partnering with 50+ health and human service organizations, schools, early learning centers and food banks. In 2021, EBC helped more than 5,000 children and expectant mothers and delivered 160,866 orders of essential items, such as diapers, formula, baby food, car seats, clothing, shoes, safety items and more free of charge in 61 cities and 123 zip codes in central Puget Sound. EBC takes in donations children’s clothing and goods from the community and purchases crucial supplies, including those we guarantee to provide: baby food, formula, car seats, pack n’ plays and diapers. The immediate, tangible assistance kids and families receive through EBC provides the support families need to care for their children, and the essentials kids need. Through a network of agency partners, more than 1,800 children each month get what they need, when they need it. Volunteers contribute an average of 2,700 hours each month at the Issaquah Hub, EBC – West Sound Hub and EBC - Northshore Hub. Connect with us: find us on Facebook at https://facebook.com/eastsidebabycorner. We are also on Twitter and Instagram, handle @babycorner.

EBC takes in donations of children’s clothing and goods from the community, purchases baby food, formula, car seats, pack n’ plays and diapers.

EBC is not only an organization that helps kids – it’s an organization where you can help kids as well. We want all children to have what they need to thrive and for parents to have peace of mind to focus on other critical family needs such as jobs and housing.

EBC supports over 145 family-service programs and sites who directly assist children and parents who are living in poverty or crisis. We are the major source of baby food, formula, diapers, pack n’ plays and car seats for twelve local food banks.

The community is the foundation for what EBC does. Your donations of goods and time are keeping kids safe, warm and fed.

Over the past couple of years, Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church has supported EBC in a number of ways including:

Donating over 195 diapers in the 2021 and 2022 EBC Diaper Derbies.

Volunteering as a group during the 2021 Pencil and Pants Drive and the 2022 Day of Service.
