A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM THE CITY OF AZUSA REGARDING COVID-19
A video message from Mayor Joseph Rocha, City Manager Sergio Gonzales, and City Departments who provide essential services to the community.
SAFER AT HOME IMPACT ON BUSINESSES
The City is aware of the significant impact the Order will have upon our local businesses and community-at-large, however, we are requesting your assistance in safeguarding your employees, patrons, and the general public by strictly adhering to the Order.

What businesses are required to close immediately per the Health Officer’s order?
The Health Officer orders the immediate closure of the following types of commercial properties and businesses:
  • Non-Essential retail businesses*
  • Bars and nightclubs that do not serve food
  • Gyms and fitness centers
  • Movie theaters, drive in theaters, live performance theaters, concert halls, arenas and stadiums
  • Arcades
  • Wineries, breweries and tap Rooms
  • All restaurants and retail food facilities for purposes of dine-in customers
  • Personal grooming centers such as nail or hair salons
  • Golf courses, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts
  • Smoke and Tobacco Shops
  • Clothing stores
  • Car wash business

*Non-Essential Retail Businesses are establishments that provide goods or services to the public that do not come within the definition of Essential Businesses.

What are Essential Businesses?
For the purpose of this order, the following is a partial list of Essential Businesses. For a complete list, refer to section 13 of the Order. Only Essential Businesses are not required to temporarily close to the public.
  • Grocery Stores, supermarkets and convenience stores
  • Gas Stations, auto supply, auto repair shops and bicycle repair shops
  • Banks, credit unions, financial institutions and insurance companies
  • Hardware stores and building supply stores
  • Plumbers, electricians, exterminators, custodial workers, funeral home workers, tree maintenance, landscapers, gardeners, private security personnel
  • Businesses providing mailing and shipping services
  • Laundromats, dry cleaners and laundry service providers
  • Restaurants and other food facilities that prepare and serve food for pick up, delivery or drive thru only
  • Hotels, motels, shared rental units

ATTENTION: RESTAURANTS OPEN FOR BUSINESS
In an effort to promote support for our local businesses as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we have drafted a survey to get a better understanding what restaurants are offering pick up orders , curb side service , delivery and/or drive-thru . With your consent, the information will be shared on our City website and City social media platforms so that our community can continue to #ShopLocal #ShopAzusa .
