Weekly Red Door

Dear St. Alban’s,

Greetings and Christmas blessings to you and your loved ones!

On December 5th I returned from short term medical leave. It was a time of healing and growth, but I am grateful to be back in the church (Presently, I am carrying out church duties from home, while recovering from COVID)

While it is never easy to step away from a well-loved ministry or job, I was reminded that we do not serve others well if we are not practicing proper selfcare

Churches are one of the few places in our communities that can support one another in all facets of this care. Our congregation has supported and cared for me, and it is my hope that we can continue to do this for our fellow parishioners, staff and friends by supporting one another in setting appropriate boundaries, asking for assistance when necessary, and supporting each other in prayer.

I recently met with our bishop’s staff, wardens and vestry and we discussed not only my expectations and desires for my ministry as your priest, but how we might model healthy boundaries and expectations for everyone in our church.

We have unique but equally important roles in the Church.
Worship January 2 and 9

Out of necessity to follow COVID quarantining protocols we will be worshipping exclusively online for the next two Sundays.

Unlike our previous livestream of worship during COVID lockdown our liturgy will be conducted on Zoom. For worship purposes, Zoom offers a better opportunity for every member of the community to participate in the liturgy and I have included portions in the service to allow for the liturgy to truly be “the work of the people” and not just observed.

To ensure that others outside our community are able to see the service, it will also be livestreamed. Please use the following link to access the Zoom Meeting on Sunday morning.

Join Zoom Meeting

I will open the room at 9:20. Please keep this opening as a time for silent prayer and reflection. We will keep the room open after the liturgy ends for 15 minutes of sharing and fellowship.
Weekly Red Door
Look for it on Friday, December 31 at about 11:00 a.m.
The link for the service will be there along with the service bulletin and other important and helpful information.
