On May 5, 2020, Christopher C. Melcher argued before the California Supreme Court on a family law question submitted by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal in the matter of In re Brace . The issue was whether property acquired by spouses in joint tenancy is community or creates equal separate interests under California.
