The Book Fair is Coming!

Volunteers needed!

The Afton Fall Book Fair is coming October 6–10, 2025, and we need your help to make it a magical experience for our students!

We are looking for volunteers to:

  • Run cash registers, bag purchases, and assist students while they shop
  • Help set up the fair on Friday, 10/3
  • Help break down the fair on Monday, 10/13

Every class will visit the fair during their Library period, so it’s a great way to see your student in action. You can sign up for their class visit or at a time that works for you.

Saturday, October 25th

Afton School Parking Lot

Time: 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Mark your calendars! Afton’s annual Trunk-or-Treat is coming on Saturday, October 25th from 12:00–2:00 pm in the Afton School parking lot. This family-friendly Halloween celebration is open to all Afton students and their siblings.

Admission:

  • Early bird: $7 per child (through October 18)
  • Regular: $12 per child (October 19–25)
  • Admission fee is required for all participating children.

What’s included:

🎶 DJ & music

🍬 Candy & prizes

🍔 Food truck (cash/credit)

🍧 Water ice (cash)

Families can also join the fun by decorating a trunk! Volunteers who decorate a trunk will receive free admission for their family. Afton will provide the treats—volunteers just bring their creativity. Prizes will be awarded for the funniest, scariest, and most creative trunks.

Space is limited, so trunk decorators must register in advance. Set-up will take place before the event. Decorations can be as simple or elaborate as you’d like—the goal is to create a safe and fun Halloween experience for all.

We look forward to seeing our Afton community come together for this exciting day!

Volunteer in the Afton Library

The Afton Library is looking for volunteers! This is a great way to lend a hand at school while seeing students in action during their library time.

Volunteers help with shelving books, checking books in and out (the scanner makes this easy!), and supporting Mrs. Moyle as students learn.

All clearances must be current and uploaded to the App Garden–Volunteer Tracker.
