Daemen University Inspires and Prepares Future Leaders

Daemen University’s Leadership and Innovation Master’s program is the perfect graduate path for aspiring leaders who are passionate about unifying teams, bridging communication gaps, and making their mark on organizations.

The Leadership and Innovation program is a 36-credit program that can be completed in just 24 months. Through a mix of virtual learning and a weekly in-person evening class, students will hone communication and critical thinking skills that position them as thought leaders in their fields.

Daemen alum and Assistant Director of Branding, Design, and Digital Content, Shelby Janczyk ‘18, ‘26, gained much more than she expected from the program, saying, “I enrolled in the Leadership and Innovation program to strengthen my leadership skills, but it ultimately reshaped how I think about collaboration, problem-solving, and impact within organizations.”

Leadership and Innovation students customize their research project/thesis and complete the specialization leadership course in one of four specialty tracks: business, health professions, higher education, or social impact organizations.

For more information about the Leadership and Innovation, M.S. program or to apply, visit daemen.edu/leadership.

Sweet Home Dollars for Scholars is a 501c3 organization whose mission is to offer scholarship opportunities to Sweet Home Senior High School graduating seniors who demonstrate the desire and academic ability to succeed in pursuing a post-secondary education.

In 1989, the then superintendent of Sweet Home Schools, Dr. James N. Finch, presented information to a group of people about a national organization called the Citizen's Scholarship Foundation of America (CSFA). After studying the information, the committee agreed to start a Sweet Home Chapter of Dollars for Scholars. The major reason the committee decided to affiliate with CSFA was the fact that several colleges and universities provided matching grants to students if a scholarship was from Dollars for Scholars - an opportunity that still exists today, 30 years later.

In its first year of existence, the Sweet Home Chapter of Dollars for Scholars awarded one scholarship in the amount of $500. Since then, the amount of scholarship money given directly from Sweet Home Dollars for Scholars has grown to $24,000 which was awarded to the Class of 2025. In addition, the total of monetary awards coming under the Dollars for Scholars umbrella has risen from $500 in 1989 to the over $100,000 that was given to the class of 2024. Since its beginning in 1989, Sweet Home Dollars for Scholars has awarded over $1.5 million in scholarships to Sweet Home High School seniors.

Community members, business or organizations can create a scholarship through a very simple process with Dollars for Scholars. No amount is too small as we have scholarships that range from $250 - $8,000 annually. If you are interested in creating a scholarship to support a Sweet Home senior through Dollars for Scholars, please contact Donald Feldmann, chairperson, at (716) 250-1406 or via email at dfeldmann@sweethomeschools.org.
