2025 Preston Feather Product Fair

This year’s Product Fair in Bay Harbor was built with one goal in mind: to support and connect with you, our customers. We had over 200 builders, contractors, and architects come through the doors to meet face-to-face with more than 30 of our manufacturing partners. It was an afternoon packed with real conversations, new ideas, and a shared focus on building better together.

A huge thank you to Lumbermen’s, their partnership in helping us host this annual event has played a major role in what it’s grown into today. We also want to recognize the Whi-Ski Inn for doing an outstanding job with food and drinks, and the Great Lakes Center for the Arts for providing such a beautiful space and being an absolute pleasure to work with. And lastly, to each and every one of our vendor partners who traveled from across Michigan and beyond to be part of this special event—thank you!

It’s less about the products on display, and more about the opportunity to connect, listen, and continue growing the relationships that really matters.

What made this event such a success was the support from all of you who took time out of your day to attend – each year this event continues to grow and add value to our community. The follow-up messages, calls, and feedback have been incredibly encouraging and reminded all of us at Preston Feather why we put so much into this.

Introducing our new training center

We’re excited to share some big news—Preston Feather has officially opened a brand-new Training Center on the second floor of our Harbor Springs facility! At 1,500 square feet and with seating for up to 50 guests, this space was designed with one goal in mind: to make product training more accessible, hands-on, and impactful—for both our team and our customers.

As the building industry continues to evolve, staying informed about new products, innovative installation techniques, and best practices has never been more important. That’s why we’ve made a long-term commitment to expand training opportunities in partnership with our vendors and distributor representatives.

Our new Training Center allows us to host workshops, demos, and lunch-and-learns in a dedicated space—without disrupting daily operations. It’s an investment in education, collaboration, and helping you get the most out of the products you use every day.

Christopher Lee

Window and Door Sales Leader

At Preston Feather, we understand how important it is to have trusted partners who truly get the details, lead times, and complexities involved in windows and doors. It’s one of the most technical and time-sensitive parts of any build, and we believe it deserves focused expertise. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Christopher Lee, our first-ever dedicated Window & Door Sales Leader.

Chris brings with him more than 30 years of experience in the building products industry and a passion for helping builders navigate this critical category with greater ease, insight, and support.

His background covers every level of the business, from sweeping warehouse floors in the heat of summer to leading regional operations across multiple states. Now, he’s here to help refine our

approach and enhance the service you receive.

Chris and his wife Lori recently traded in the fast pace of life in the greater Chicago area for the beauty and charm of Northern Michigan. Whether it’s a scenic Harley ride through town or a sunset cruise on Torch Lake, they’ve already embraced the local lifestyle with open arms.

To ensure a strong and seamless start, Chris has been working closely with Troy Bamberg throughout his onboarding. Troy’s experience, regional knowledge, and trusted customer relationships have been instrumental in connecting Chris with both our internal team and the builders we serve. This collaboration has laid a solid foundation and positioned Chris to make an immediate impact.

When asked why he chose Preston Feather, Chris shared that he was drawn to the values of a family-owned and operated company where his work could truly make a difference. Since joining, he’s found that it’s not just the mission, but the people, the customers, and the culture that set this place apart.

Chris is here to be your go-to resource. He’s someone who brings clarity to the process, understands what’s at stake, and is committed to helping you get it right from the start. Petoskey Location Leader

We’re proud to announce the promotion of Chad Thompson to Location Leader of our Petoskey branch!

Chad joined Preston Feather two years ago as a member of our Inside Sales team, where he quickly became known for his strong product knowledge, customer-first attitude, and steady leadership presence. His ability to build trusted relationships and consistently deliver solutions has made him a valuable resource to both our customers and team members.

In his new role, Chad will lead daily operations at the Petoskey location, support our contractor partners, and continue to strengthen our service commitment in the community.

Beyond her professional strengths, Megan is a dedicated community leader. She has served on the boards of both the Gaylord Area Chamber of Commerce and the Gaylord Tourism Bureau, reflecting her deep commitment to the region she now serves through Preston

Preston Feather Petoskey

Join us on Thursdays July 10th through August in Petoksey for our Franks & Thanks events! Enjoy free hotdogs, meet with vendor reps from top brands, and catch live product demos. It’s a great chance to grab lunch, learn something new, and connect with our team and supplier partners. Events will typically run from 12pm –1:30pm in the Petoskey location’s parking lot.

HBA Parade of Homes recap

Father’s Day weekend was the HBA of Northwest Michigan’s Parade of Homes, sponsored by Preston Feather. This year’s tour consisted of nine homes in three counties (Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Manistee) and gathered more than 2,394 visits to the homes from nearly 1,000 ticketed attendees!
