September Begins the Settling

September

What is it about the turning of a calendar's page to this month that can extract an audible sigh?

The word itself does have a softness…. It can be formed on an exhale breath with gentle movement of the lips, leaving an essence to linger among in the end.

It's as though just by saying the word, September, that we begin to subtly surrender to the shifting of the season.

The Autumn air begins to swirl its breeze in and among the Summer days, which will soon draw from the ground the gourds and gifts of Fall.

Consumer influence beckons our attention towards the holiday season, yet an internal resistance to that rush invokes us to pause…to slow the pace of the days ahead. This temperance becomes one of our first intentional downshifts among Summer's enduring momentum which ultimately allows us to coast comfortably into the months ahead.

In some ways, this month stands as a threshold, the place between dynamic action and layers of rest. September resides as a safe space to toy with energetic management as we will each adjust our own rhythms at different times. This is one reason why it is good medicine to be among nature: The more we observe changes happening around us organically, the better we can sense, honor and support our own individual needs during change as well.

Ultimately, that is why we share this landscape. It serves as a healing space to return to the self through a calibration of the senses using nature.

This season I am honored to be co-hosting a specific retreat designed to create that experience. For those who are seeking a contemplative and introspective journey through the senses, Oct 5th has been carved out as a full day retreat to do exactly that.

This is to note only one of the one dozen invitations awaiting this community in the coming weeks, which we are so excited to extend to you and yours. There truly is something for everyone, from different durations to modalities, offered by the most passionate and experienced healers, neighbors, and friends.

In Other Subtleties

While installation of the mini-split was a significant improvement for climate control a few years back, rework and replacement of the attic insulation is now the cherry on top! We are beyond excited to share this news of the cabin's maintenance and care. Having noticed the immediate improvement to the temperature's consistency, we are more grateful than ever before for all of you who hung in with us until now! Thank you for always celebrating what is about this special place. May the improvements along the way continue to be special surprises to all of us.

A wonderful milestone

For some of us it's the moon. For some the pine trees.

For some of us it's the moss. For others the dragonflies.

For some of us it's sitting by water, fire, or the breeze in the front porch rocker.

The nature of Sky Pond nourishes each of these attributes for us (and more) that we may have what we need to restore personal balance.

Whatever the reason that draws you, we hope you'll say yes to the call. Seasonal shifts are a wonderful time to explore and restore our well-being and to be supported along the way.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

In Love & Light,

Sean & Miriam Anderson
