Thank You for Helping Us Complete the

Ultimate Community Potluck!

It's been an impactful Fall season at CAN and we couldn't have done it without everyone who contributed to our Fall Giving Campaign.

Thanks to your help, we were able to host 6 amazing Harvest Potlucks with each of our communities, celebrate with seasonal festivities during Afterschool Programs, and handout 327 Harvest Bags so that families can celebrate in their own way!

We also want to say a special thank you to University of Michigan Student Athletes for providing all of Green Baxter Court's Harvest Baskets and Valor Strength and Performance for providing all of Bryant's Harvest Baskets!

It's Been a Busy Couple Months!

Thank you to the Oberheide family for selecting CAN as one of the beneficiaries of the Stone Wall fundraiser this year! And thank you to everyone who carved a pumpkin to contribute to the beautiful wall. In total, we collected 298 pumpkins, and the donation gave CAN's Fall Giving Campaign a huge boost!

A number of CAN staff got to visit Food Gatherers this month and learned a ton! Torey and Courtney even got a sneak peak of a delivery headed for Bryant!

Each site had a blast celebrating spooky season in their own special way!

Bryant's team built their very own haunted house in the main room. Arrowwood hosted a Fall Festival. And we enjoyed many ASP parties!

Through the Bryant Sustainability Project, in partnership with the City of Ann Arbor's A2Zero Initiative, seemingly simple fixes are creating a big impact. Pictured below is one of our most impactful remediations to date. After years of septic pouring into this crawlspace, it is now crystal clean which improves air quality, reduces energy bills due to better temperate control, helps with pest control, and increases home value just to name a few benefits!

Last month, we had the honor of showing a number of our amazing supporters and partners around 3 CAN sites. We all hopped on a bus to visit Bryant, Brick, and Arrowwood community centers.

We love the opportunity to show folks around! If you ever want to visit a CAN community center, please reach out to us at info@canwashtenaw.org

So much fun with our students lately, including...

A thrilling Teen Graphic Novel Workshop where teens from multiple CAN sites got together every Friday to author their own creations! At the end of the workshop, each graphic novel will be professionally printed and bound!

Getting super creative with Art and Design. We've been doing lessons that involve listening to music and different instruments and creating art based on how it makes us feel!

And enjoying lots of delicious foods! Hikone even got a visit from Kids Kitchen where they made Apple Nachos!

Be sure to stay tuned for more CAN festivities as we head into Winter and share information on how you can help propel these programs into 2025!
