Have you ever wondered what goes on "Behind the Curtain"?
Center for the Arts and New London Barn Playhouse will co-host a unique insider's look at the creative process. Sit in on the rehearsal of The Pajama Game, followed by a Q&A session. Light refreshments will follow on the Barn's Porch.

I n one of the most famous reincarnations of all time, Arthur Conan Doyle killed off his world-renowned detective Sherlock Holmes, only to bring him back to life several years later. Community-wide Arts Night on the Newport Common  
The first "Community Arts Night" and a large-scale community arts project --"Birds of a Feather" --under the big tent on the Newport Town Common. Participants will paint one of 200 wooden birds that will "fly high" in the trees in locations in downtown Newport throughout the summer. Free to participate. The Hello Girls Documentary Screening at Tracy Library
Carolyn Timbie is the granddaughter of a Hello Girl.  She will show the film, answer questions, and bring items from her grandmother's collection.  The Hello Girls were a group of brave women who served as bilingual telephone operators near the front lines in France during WWI.    www.tracylibrary.org

Galileo Galilei, the Starry Messenger
Galileo (dressed in 17th-century costume) arrives to present a public lecture on his most recent discoveries made using his newly-devised spyglass. As he describes those discoveries, Galileo's new method of observation and measurement of nature become apparent. Throughout the presentation audience members are actively involved in experiments and demonstrations.
