Two Villages Art Society in Contoocook, New Hampshire, presents Night Vision, featuring the paintings of Owen Krzyzaniak Geary. Geary, a New York resident, returns to his hometown with "Paintings of fluttering bats and glowing fungus [that] remind me of exploring the forest at night when I was younger." The show opens tomorrow, Friday May 27, and runs through June 18, Thursdays through Sundays from 12–4 p.m. There will be an opening reception on May 28 from 12—2 p.m. Two Villages Art Society is located at 846 Main Street, Contoocook, New Hampshire. Hosmer Gallery at Forbes Library presents Bonnie Sennott: Abstract Embroidery and Watercolors. Sennott will be showing her work including the "Daily Thread, a yearlong project for which she embroidered every day using colors observed in nature, and several of her negative space embroideries exploring absence, loss, and the passing of time. She will also show abstract watercolors on the theme of "stones and water," which she is creating in 2022 as part of the "100 days of creative acts" project organized by author Suleika Jaouad and the Isolation Journals." Three Stones Gallery presents Portraits: urban + natural + imagined through July 10. The show features the works of three artists: Kevin Kusiolek, Colleen Pearce and Alyn Carlson — "Kevin Kusiolek captures urban architectural portraits teeming with the city’s energy while Colleen Pearce’s paintings portray the intimate world of flora. The collage portraits of featured artist Alyn Carlson imagine strong female personas empowered in their environments." The show's opening reception will be held on Thursday, June 2 from 6–8 p.m. Three Stones Gallery is located 32 Main Street, Concord, Massachusetts. From June 1 - 26, Bromfield Gallery presents “Holding On: Collages for Current Times” by Alexandra Sheldon, artworks that combine what is off kilter and fragmented, as a kind of optimistic prayer, and “Modern Artifacts” by Susan Morrison-Dyke, paintings inspired by mid-century modern design, inflected with Americana such as gameboards and amusement parks. The opening reception is Friday, June 3, from 6-8 pm.
